My feeder fishing set up

Yesterday was the 3rd round of the Gloucester spring league on the Gloucester canal.
The draw was done the day previous so knew I was heading to peg 245.

On the draw sheet I saw I’d drawn next to my good friend Howard Angling but after a brief phone call found out he wouldn’t be coming due to having tyre problems.

My peg was right on the nose of a boat so couldn’t really see what was happening to my left which I think actually helped me concentrate on my own match.

Kept my match really simple by having a couple of lines and strictly rotating and keeping to times with feeding. Caught a variety of fish including eels 🤢.
Dropped a couple of eels at the net which cost me my mini section by 1/2 oz but overall happy with how I fished.

At the weigh in I weighed 4.1.8 to finish 3rd in my 15 man section which gave us good points. An overall great performance by all the team from Milo Bait-Tech West Midlands and well done Tom Driver beating with 1/2 oz for the section lol.

A big thank you to Trentside angling for quality bait yet again

Final round in a fortnight 🎣

Baden hall silver series

Sunday was the last round of the silver series and with only 11 anglers turning up we were all put on middle pool.

At the draw I drew peg 20, this area produced in the last match so I was fairly happy as I was sat in 3rd place only a point behind 1st and 2nd.

At the all in I fed both my feeder and pole lines.
I started on the feeder but there was no indications, this was the same on the pole line.

I had to keep rotating between my lines to catch the ‘odd’ fish. They just weren’t there. Even peg 18 and 21 were struggling.

The wind was blowing towards the other end of the lake so I knew it was going to be hard.

At the weight in I weighed a disappointing 1.880kg which put me 8th out of the 11 anglers on the lake. That gave me a whopping 8 points to add to my already 9 points leaving me with 17 points overall. I knew it was going to be close in the top 6. I matched points with young Alfie but he had 6 kilo more overall making him take 5th place and the last place for the payout.

To say I’m gutted is an understatement but that’s fishing. We just have to dust ourselves off and go again!

A massive well done to Mark Kearns on winning the series and all the other framers.
A big thank you to Baden Hall Fisheries for running the event.

Learnt loads so hopefully do better next time 🎣
