🌏🐼 Preschool have continued their journey around Asia this week! 🐯

We have had a busy day today learning all about giant pandas and Siberian tigers.
To finish the activity, the children used a range of natural resources to create their own habitat collages. They explored different textures using sticks, leaves and other natural materials to make snowy homes for the tigers and leafy habitats for the pandas.

☀️ Sunshine & Sun Safety ☀️

We’re finally getting some lovely weather this week! 🌞

Please can we ask that all children come in loose, cool clothing and have sun cream applied before arriving each morning. We’d also really appreciate all children bringing a named bottle of sun cream in their bags so we can top up throughout the day 🧴

Please also remember:
🧢 A named sun hat
💧 A water bottle
👕 Comfortable clothing suitable for the warm weather

We’ll be making the most of the sunshine safely with plenty of water breaks, shaded play and cooling down activities ☀️

This week our pre-schoolers have been exploring celebrations inspired by our story The Family Book 🎉📚

The children made play dough birthday cakes and enjoyed mark making birthday cards, exploring counting, shapes and fine motor skills to support early maths and physical development. Talking about welcoming a new sibling to the family and caring for toy babies encouraged lots of role play, communication and social development.

Today we finished the week with a wedding celebration where the children made confetti, created beautiful flower bouquets using real flowers and ribbon, danced together and enjoyed a wedding breakfast 💒🌸🎊

🧪 MAY HALF TERM HOLIDAY CLUB 🧪

We still have some spaces available at our May Half Term Holiday Club at St Thomas’s School, run by St Thomas’s Nursery.

This half term’s theme is all things science, with lots of fun activities planned including baking, engineering, messy science and crazy chemistry experiments 🔬🧫

We’re all set up at Tean’s Picnic in the Park today, fundraising for The Christie Hospital 💛

We’ve got raffle tickets available, plus face glitter and balloons for the children 🎈✨

A beautiful sensory activity for our babies today 🌸✨

We explored flowers frozen in ice on our light-up table – tapping, scraping and watching as the ice slowly melted. Once melted, the children loved playing with the petals and water, exploring different textures and colours 💧🌼
