It has been lovely seeing all of our children settling into their new classrooms. There has been a real buzz of excitement around the school as everyone begins a new year of learning, friendship, and discovery.

We look forward to working together to make this a successful, enjoyable, and rewarding year for every child.

Our Bronze Junior Challenge Award children successfully completed their first Junior Challenge hike, a fantastic 5km walk through the beautiful surroundings of Black Park.

The children were in great spirits throughout the walk. After completing the challenge, they celebrated with some well-earned games and an ice lolly!

A huge well done to this wonderful group. We are incredibly proud of the effort and commitment they have shown throughout the year and we can’t wait to see them take on the Silver Junior Challenge Award next year. Congratulations, everyone!

Gold Junior Challenge Award – 15km Hike

On Monday, our Gold Junior Challenge Award group completed their impressive 15km circular hike from Hambledon.

The children set off early to make the most of the cooler temperatures and tackled the challenge with enthusiasm and fantastic team spirit. They should all be incredibly proud of what they achieved

Congratulations to our Year 6 students, who put on a wonderful production of Aladdin this week. We are so proud of their singing, acting and enthusiasm throughout the performance.

A huge thank you to our audience for their support, especially in the hot weather. Your encouragement meant so much to the children.

Our Junior Challenge Award pupils completed their final challenge with an incredible 10km hike from school to Burnham Beeches and back.

We set off early to beat the heat and their enthusiasm and energy remained high throughout. There was plenty of fun along the way. We are incredibly proud not only of what they achieved but also of the outstanding attitude, resilience and behaviour they demonstrated from start to finish.

The celebrations were held in the evening with pizza and a sleepover at school, which were just as successful and enjoyable. We suspect, however, that a few of them may have needed a well-earned daytime nap on Saturday!

The SPS community celebrated sportsmanship, teamwork and friendly competition in style at our annual Sports Day last week.

The weather was on our side, making it a fantastic morning for everyone. Pupils gave their all in every event, cheered on their teammates with enthusiasm and worked hard to earn points for their teams.

It was wonderful to see so many of our school values on display, along with an incredible range of sporting talent and determination

The competition went right down to the wire before Ms Astley announced this year’s winners – the Yellow Team! This marked their first Sports Day victory in 15 years, making the celebrations even more special. There was an outpouring of excitement from our Yellow Team, with fantastic support and applause from pupils and staff alike.

The trophy was proudly lifted by this year’s two Yellow Team captains, bringing a memorable day to a perfect close.

Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to the Yellow Team on a truly well-deserved victory!
