No surprise there and although I am full with no spaces until September 2026 all my current families have been able to access the funding offer. If anyone is looking for a space in South glos there is always Childcare in south glos page where my other profession colleague may be able to help.

Families hoping to access the extended entitlement offers may not receive all the hours they were promised or be able to access their first-choice provider, the education secretary has warned.

Writing in The Sun, Bridget Phillipson accused the previous Conservative government of “recklessly rush[ing] through a childcare pledge without a plan to carry it out”.

She confirmed that the 2025 early entitlement expansion will go ahead, but warned that “it won’t be the sunlit uplands promised by the Tories” and that “in some parts of the country, while parents may receive the hours they were promised, they might not get their first choice of nursery or childminder”.

We have had a lovely week exploring and attending our regular playgroups. The children have loved to be outside in the sun even if we did still need wellies. We had a great time at the splash area and visiting a park we have never been to before, the speaking tube was a great favourite. Lots of great learning & pretend play with the kitchen set up at home and developing the children’s fine motor skill for the physicality of writing. Some of the children are practicing their independence and self care, practicing putting on their socks. The weather even held out for us to celebrate some of our little ones & their friends, heading off to school. ❤️💧🎓🌿🍃🧦🌯🍎🍓🍛🍽️😁❤️

For all parents and carers. Important information with signs and symptoms to look out for. Keep alert for any signs to keep our little people safe.

and cases are higher than normal at this time of year.

Scarlet fever is usually mild but highly infectious. Look out for symptoms in your child, which include a sore throat, headache, and fever, along with a fine, pinkish or red body rash with a sandpapery feel.

Scarlet fever is caused by bacteria called group A streptococci. These bacteria also cause other respiratory and skin infections and in very rare cases, the bacteria can get into the bloodstream and cause an illness called invasive Group A strep (iGAS).

If you feel that your child seems seriously unwell, you should trust your own judgement. Contact NHS 111 or your GP if:

• your child is getting worse
• your child is feeding or eating much less than normal
• your child has had a dry nappy for 12 hours or more or shows other signs of dehydration
• your baby is under 3 months and has a temperature of 38°C, or is older than 3 months and has a temperature of 39°C or higher
• your baby feels hotter than usual when you touch their back or chest, or feels sweaty
• your child is very tired or irritable

Call 999 or go to A&E if:

• your child is having difficulty breathing – you may notice grunting noises or their tummy sucking under their ribs
• there are pauses when your child breathes
• your child’s skin, tongue or lips are blue
• your child is floppy and will not wake up or stay awake

Good hand and respiratory hygiene are important for stopping the spread of many bugs. By teaching your child how to wash their hands properly with soap for 20 seconds, using a tissue to catch coughs and sneezes, and keeping away from others when feeling unwell, they will be able to reduce the risk of picking up or spreading infections.

Lovely time at the Bristol Beacon Hoo ha today. The children had a great time crafting crowns, designing pen robots, having their pictures drawn, conducting music and of course exploring space with the explore dome. Still on tomorrow if anyone fancy’s a free day out with arts and crafts and other bits and pieces. ❤️

I am delighted to announce that I had my routine Ofsted inspection on the 18th of May and continue to be graded ‘Good’. We all had a lovely day and the inspector commented that the children are inspired to learn & that the children make good progress and gain skills they need for their future learning. You can find a full version of my ofsted inspection on request.

Well we have been having so much fun I have forgotten to keep this page updated with the lovely exciting places we have been and the learning and exploring the children have been doing. So here a few pic of our time over the past few weeks. Highlight was seeing the Light exhibition at Gloucester Cathedral. Truly breathtaking and so fantastic that the children we able to be submerged themselves in such a sensory experience. We have also enjoyed Chinese supermarket, Slimbridge WWT, Bristol museum and Art gallery, We the curious, the water fountain at the Mall, Cribbs after choosing our world book day books and Dyrham Park (National Trust).

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at Pond life (tadpoles into frogs) Mother’s Day, St Patrick’s day, British science week and the run up to Easter. 🐤🐣 🥚🌼🌞☘️❤️
