After a lovely afternoon yesterday, teaching some of our senior ballet🧑‍🩰students, myself and Miss Lauren went to see a performance of Ballet Nights at Darlington Hippodrome.

It was brilliant to see up and coming talent, ballet companies from different countries, incredible musicians 🎻, current students at Central School of Ballet, dances pieces that were unlike anything we had seen before and of course MR STEVEN MCRAE!!!!!!!!

Anyone who knows me is aware of how much I admire him and that he is my favourite male dancer 💕

He performed a tap solo piece, which he choreographed, to live music. To see him perform it live was just a joy 🥹 I did grab Miss Lauren’s arm half way through as I was so impressed with his turns and stunning feet 👣

We were lucky enough to be be able to meet all of the performers after the show and have a quick chat with the man himself.A humble, warm and friendly person as well as an incredible performer xx

I had a fantastic weekend in Manchester adjudicating the UKA Dance ‘Performer of the Year’ competition ✨

It was wonderful to watch all of the talented dancers perform the dances I had set, showcasing their hard work and preparation 🏅

Congratulations to all the schools who took part. Many had travelled a long distance to be there.

It was lovely to meet my fellow adjudicators, Bethany and Karen.
Well done to all at UKA who work very hard to organise these events each year and for the opportunity to take on this role for the 2026 competition x

Ah it’s that time ……..to wish our Georgia all the luck in the world as she starts her new adventure at Performers College on her degree course in musical theatre 🎭

I am never normally stuck for words but it is hard to quickly sum up over 10yrs of memories and teaching 🤩 The hard work which has gone into every lesson, every week, every year is impossible to explain.

I take comfort in knowing that the memories will always be there for Georgia, myself and Miss Lauren and all the other pupils and their families who have been part of Georgia’s life at Starlight ⭐️

The studio will be a quieter place without her laughing, falling, throwing herself around and making up her own ballet language!

Georgia- you have all you need to move onto this next chapter and succeed ✨
Just hold on to the knowledge and self belief that you can do anything 💪🏻

Much love 🩷🩶🖤
