Clever Thinkers have been developing they fine motor skills in an exciting way! The children were challenged to use the tongs to try and cat h the floating ball! Not only did it help develop our fine motor skills, you can also see it helped to develop our focus and attention.

๐Ÿ’ง Want to know how the clever thinkers keep cool? We have a water party in the garden that's how! We got sun creamed, hats on, water bottles filled and got into the garden before it got too hot. Everyone used sprays, cups and tins to get each other and the practitioners used the hose pipe to get eveyone too, everyone had lots of fun!

๐ŸŒˆ Our clever thinkers have enjoyed our first rainbow day of the week, it's been fantastic! We have had ice play, sticking and gluing, colour mixing, potion making, rice play, rainbow fruit kebabs and lots more. A big focus of the day has been discussing what makes us unique and what makes us the same. The children have had discussions about this and also filled out their own Proud posters to show what special about them.

This morning Clever Thinkers all helped to make some delicious homemade orange juice. First everyone came to help squeeze the oranges before checking how much juice they squeezed and then pouring I to a jug. Once all our oranges were done we had filled half of one of our big jugs! We then mixed our juice with water in a big drink dispenser and got our cups ready to try some. Taking turns we lined up to pour our own orange juice and finally get to taste it. There was lots empty cups, happy faces and requests to make more! ๐ŸŠ

๐ŸŒˆ Happy Pride month to all of our families and practitioners across Little Ladybirds and Clever Clogs!

Celebrating Pride in the early years isnโ€™t about complex adult topics; itโ€™s about introducing values such as kindness, belonging, and respect in age-appropriate ways. For children, "pride" means two main things: feeling happy about doing their best, and celebrating who they are. Although the word is strongly connected to the LGBTQ+ community, where pride means standing up for equal rights and loving yourself without hiding who you are, in nursery we start with helping young children understand that they themselves are unique, that all families are different and that our differences should be celebrated.

To celebrate we are holding our annual rainbow days on Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th June. Everyone is invited to attend nursery (if they attend those days) wearing rainbows or bright colourful clothes. There will be photo opportunities outside the nursery aswell as many fantastic themed rainbow activities across all of our rooms ๐Ÿ˜Š
