Our nursery is divided into four bright and spacious rooms, all of which are designed to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage

The nursery is complemented by a large state-of-the-art outdoor play area that was purposely built with the different stage of a child’s development in mind. The aim at Little Ladybirds is to create a fun, homely environment where children are given the opportunity to develop to their full potential.

🍂🌰🍁Today in the Little Explorers room we have continued with our Autumn activities, we have had lots of fun rolling the pinecones and conkers down the large tube, then finding them in the leaves. We have also been using the tweezers to pick up the conkers and pinecones from the tray through the web. 🍂 🌰🍁

In the Little Explorers room we have been practicing more fine motor skills today, we have been pe***ng the leaves on the line. The children watched as a practitioner demonstrated how to use the pegs, with support lots of the children were able to achieve pe***ng the leaves. Whilst picking our leaves we spotted a Ladybird hiding, the children talked about what it was and enjoyed looking and watching it crawl on the leave, before we let it go outside. 🍁🌰🍂 🐞

Today in Little Explorers we have enjoyed getting up to lots of different autumn themed activities. In the tuff tray the children have enjoyed doing lots of scooping and pouring with the leaves, water and conkers to make some Autumn tea. We have also enjoyed exploring some cinnamon playdough, rolling it out with rolling pins and making different prints within the playdough with pinecones and numbers. In our pit we have had some autumn leaves in it and the children have enjoyed throwing the leaves in the air, crunching them together and collecting them into bags. 🍂🍁🌰☕

This morning, our Small Discoverers enjoyed exploring the Autumn tray outside. The children enjoyed exploring the pumpkins, sticks, and leaves. Some children used words such as “pumpkin”, “sticks”, and “leaves”. Some children also used the pumpkins to build towers.

We then came inside and enjoyed some painting. The children moved the conkers around in the tubes and watched them move to create their own paintings.

The children have arrived to our garden transformed into Pumpkin Land this morning!
The children were so excited to explore all the different things they can do with the pumpkins and to also join in with the different pumpkin themed activities.
We are incredibly lucky that one of our families got us the pumpkins to build our town with!

This morning, our small Discoverers enjoyed painting outside in the garden. The children used paint and brushes to explore and have fun.

They developed their fine motor skills by holding the brushes, mixing the paint and dabbing it onto the paper. Some children also used the brushes to bang on the bench and make music.

Small Discoverers 🍊✨
Today, our Small Discoverers had lots of fun exploring glittery water and sponges. The children enjoyed squeezing the water out of the sponges and watching as the glitter separated and moved through the water. They were fascinated by what they could see and explore!

The children then enjoyed exploring oranges in the water. We talked about the leaves, looking closely at their different shapes and colours. Well done, Small Discoverers! 🌿💧✨
