It was fantastic to welcome Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Chief Executive Mike Greene to our NETA Training facility today to offer an insight into exciting plans for the months and years ahead.
The council has played a huge part in bringing the NETA development to Thornaby and Etc. Chief Executive and Group Principal Grant Glendinning was proud to be able to share progress on the project as it nears completion.
The £14.7m training centre brings together NETA’s expertise in engineering and industrial training with brand-new purpose-built facilities.
A real collaborative effort, bringing opportunity to the borough, it was identified by the Thornaby Town Deal Board as a priority intervention to bring long-term change and investment to Thornaby, with an investment of £4.57m through the Thornaby Town Deal fund.

Bespoke Employer Led Programmes (BELPS) are delivered with funding from the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority through its Adult Skills Fund.

Based in the North East, NETA Training is one of the UK's largest vocational training providers. We deliver a wide range of commercial courses along with engineering study programmes, apprenticeship training and T Levels.

We are so excited to have received the keys to our fantastic new NETA Training centre in Thornaby. Now we get to make the building our own by injecting NETA’s distinct character, history and expertise into state-of-the-art facilities.

Collaboration is at the heart of ambitions for this unique project, bringing together NETA and the wider Education Training Collective, the Thornaby Town Deal Board, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, employers and industry leaders, to envisage a purpose-built environment for industrial skills training that meets current and future workforce demand.

Thanks to all our delivery partners who have played a part in turning our shared vision into the bricks and mortar facility we see today. Not long now before we get to transition staff, delegates and learners into the new training space!
