Our focus is formation of the whole child, formation of faith and formation of professional learners. In 1963, St Bede’s Senior Boys’ School moved to our present site on Bishopton Road and their old school in Newtown was converted to a primary school for St Bede’s parish. A year later, in 1964, the St Mary’s Senior Girls moved from Major Street to a new school on the same Bishopton Road site. In 1

🎭 Wow! We’re still buzzing from our incredible run of High School Musical! 🎭

With 65 pupils, 4 performances, and over 800 audience members enjoying the show, it truly was a production to remember. The memories made both on and off the stage will last a lifetime.

We could not be prouder of every single person involved. Whether they were seasoned performers or stepping onto the stage for the very first time, our pupils showed outstanding dedication, resilience, enthusiasm, and commitment throughout the rehearsal process and performances.

The wonderful reviews and feedback we have received have been thoroughly deserved (if you came to see HSM, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!)

From the energetic opening of "Wildcat Cheer" to the show-stopping "Megamix" finale, the cast gave their all, demonstrating professionalism, talent, and teamwork every step of the way.

This production also marked the Performing Arts Department’s fifth show at OLSB. It’s incredible to think that the Year 7 pupils who first joined us for Hairspray in 2022 are now preparing to spread their wings and begin the next chapter of their journey.

A special thank you goes to Alfie, Isabella, Freddie, Emaan and Harry, who have been part of every one of our productions. Your commitment, growth, and passion for performing have been inspiring to watch. On behalf of Mr Walker, Mrs Carey and Miss Conway, we wish you every success for the future and hope you'll return next year to watch our sixth OLSB production!

πŸ‘€ And finally... the announcement of our 2027 production will be made in September. Stay tuned! 🎬✨

Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy Students Represent Our School at The National Careers Challenge Grand Finals πŸ’«

Congratulations to Team Music Masquerades – George, Dylan, Isabelle, Pippa, Tino and Odala – who proudly represented our school at The National Careers Challenge Grand Finals at the Telford International Centre. ⭐

Earlier this year, The Inspirational Learning Group visited our school to deliver an employer-led challenge, giving students the opportunity to work on a real-world business brief while developing essential employability and enterprise skills. Following their fantastic performance, Team Music Masquerade qualified for the national finals.

At the event, our students presented their ideas to employers and business leaders alongside finalists from schools across the UK. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase their creativity, confidence and teamwork while experiencing a truly inspiring national event.

Hosted by Britain's Got Talent finalist Harry Moulding, the Grand Finals brought together students, educators and employers to celebrate the next generation of talent.

We are incredibly proud of Team Music Masquerade for their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm throughout the competition. Reaching the Grand Finals is a fantastic achievement, and they have been excellent ambassadors for our school. πŸ“£
