🔬🧅 Another evening of microscopy with our Year 7 Group 2! 🧫✨

Our students had so much fun getting hands-on with their microscopy practical! They prepared their own onion cell slide, stained it with iodine solution and carefully viewed it under a light microscope. 🔬

They also had the chance to explore some incredible pre-made slides, discovering just how different cells and specimens can look under the microscope! 🧬🦠

Another lesson full of curiosity, practical skills and those all-important “wow, look at that!” moments! 💡

🧪🔬 GCSE Biology Required Practical: Osmosis! 🥔💧

This required practical wasn’t just about understanding the theory behind osmosis - it was also about developing those all-important practical and data handling skills!

Our students had the opportunity to interpret results, analyse data and plot graphs with a line of best fit 📊 - skills that are so important for GCSE Biology.

Every practical we plan takes time, preparation and effort behind the scenes, but when students genuinely understand the theory, ask questions and turn the practical into a talking point, it makes every minute worthwhile!

Thank you for showing so much enthusiasm and getting so involved in the lesson, girls! 👏 We love seeing that curiosity and confidence grow through hands on learning!

🔬✨ Some incredible results from our Year 7 microscopy practical!

Our students explored a fascinating range of pre-prepared slides, from kidney cells to viruses 🫘🦠 and the colours and detail they discovered under the microscope were amazing!

It was incredible to see their excitement as they explored a microscopic world that is usually invisible to the naked eye. 🔬

🔬🧅 A lesson full of WOW moments! 🧅🔬

Our Year 7 Biology students had an unforgettable microscopy practical!

We prepared and stained an onion cell before carefully placing it under a light microscope to see the incredible structures hidden within. We also explored a selection of pre-prepared slides and took photographs of what we discovered through the microscopes. 📸🔬

From the moment they walked into the room until the very end of the practical, there were “WOW!” moments everywhere! Watching their faces light up as they discovered things they had only previously seen in textbooks was truly special.

Lessons like this remind us what a privilege it is to teach, inspire and nurture young minds. Seeing their curiosity, excitement and genuine fascination with Biology made all the preparation behind the scenes completely worthwhile.

To all our Year 7 students - thank you for making this lesson so memorable. Your enthusiasm and reactions were truly beyond words!
