🌿 Meet the Face Behind Roos & Doo’s! 🌿

Hello everyone! 👋🏼💚

I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly!

My name is Mia, and I am the proud owner and founder of Roos & Doo’s Day Nursery.

I have worked within childcare and education for several years, gaining experience in schools, childminding and nannying. Working with children has always been something I am incredibly passionate about.

As a mum of two myself, I understand just how important it is to find childcare where your little ones feel safe, happy, loved and supported.

Opening my own nursery has been a huge dream of mine, and I’m so proud to have turned that dream into a reality while continuing to run my childcare agency.

My aim has always been to provide high-quality, nurturing and reliable childcare, while building strong, trusting relationships with families.

Behind the business is a lot of hard work, determination and a genuine love for what I do. 💚

🌱 Supporting Children’s Learning Through EYFS Activities at Home 🌱

Providing stimulating activities for children doesn’t need to be complicated. The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) encourages learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences across all areas of development.
Here are some simple ways to support learning at home:

🎵 Musical Play
Children can explore sound using everyday household items. Pots, pans, spoons, rice-filled bottles, or even clapping and tapping rhythms all help develop listening skills, coordination, and early language patterns.

🎨 Creative Arts & Crafts
Painting, drawing, collage, and mark making give children opportunities to express themselves freely while developing fine motor skills and creativity. Recycled materials and nature items make great resources!

📚 Storytelling & Role Play
Bringing stories to life with toys, dressing up, or simple props helps build imagination, vocabulary, and confidence in communication. Children love acting out real-life roles like shops, doctors, or families.

🌿 Outdoor & Garden Play
Outdoor learning supports physical development and curiosity. Activities like digging, planting, climbing, exploring nature, or obstacle courses help build strength, coordination, and understanding of the world.

🔢 Numbers & Counting
Counting toys, steps, snacks, or using songs and games helps children develop early maths skills in a fun, everyday way. Sorting and matching activities are great too!

🗣️ Language Skills
Talking, reading, singing, and asking open-ended questions helps children develop strong communication skills. Everyday conversations are one of the best learning tools!

🍪 Cooking & Baking
Simple cooking activities help children learn about measuring, following instructions, and understanding changes in food. It also builds independence and teamwork skills.

This weekend 2 of little treasures attended a wedding and provided childcare for the bride and grooms children and 2 other children at the wedding.

We also set up a children table and some activity's. Positive feedback from the family who were super happy with everything!

✨ Another wonderful review received ✨

We were delighted to provide childcare at the recent Padel & Prams Padel & Prams event in Manchester, where mums enjoyed some time on the padel court while we kept their little ones happy, engaged, and well cared for.

Receiving positive feedback from the families we support means so much to us. Knowing that parents can relax, have fun, and focus on themselves for a few hours because they trust us with their children is exactly why we love what we do. 💛

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the event such a success. It was fantastic to see mums connecting, exercising, and enjoying some well-deserved time for themselves while their children were cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.
