Ryandale hive have enjoyed time outside this morning before it gets too warm. They enjoyed the water wall and creating their own puddles to jump in. Some children in the mud kitchen were “ making porridge “ using and exploring all of the different utensils.

⚽️🏆This morning we have been looking at all of the different flags included in this years World Cup. We discussed what colours, shapes and patterns we could see whilst the children tried to copy some of the flags or even designed their own. The children asked lots of questions about what the countries are called and where they are, we all had lots of fun.🏆⚽️

⚽️🏆World Cup🏆⚽️

As the Football World Cup starts tomorrow we thought it would be nice if the children wear football or football related tops to join in with Barley Fields School.
We will be doing lots of fun World Cup activities over the next few weeks ⚽️

Lemon and limes is a fun and engaging sensory activity. These citrus fruits provide children with opportunities to use multiple senses as they touch, smell, observe and taste them. The bright colours, smooth and bumpy textures, and strong citrus scents encourage curiosity and exploration.
Tasting lemons and limes helps children experience new flavours, including sour tastes, which can support the development of their palate and willingness to try different foods. Watching and discussing their reactions also helps build communication and language skills as they describe what they see, smell and taste.

Today some of our butterflies flew away. The children waved to them and said goodbye. We enjoyed looking at them before they flew off really high. The children have really enjoyed watching them as small caterpillars 🐛 and turning into beautiful butterflies. 🦋

☀️ ☀️ We’ve been busy cooking with pasta in the mud kitchen, making lots of dinner for each other. We have also been practising our gross motor skills, by riding the bikes, hitting the ball with the bats and pouring lots of water too. ☀️ ☀️

🎊Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough 🎊
The children have been very creative and painted some beautiful pictures to celebrate Sir David Attenborough, we have talked about his love for animals and what our favourite animals are too🦍🐆.
During the week we have been looking at our number and letter recognition, we have been using our ice cream counting cones, jigsaws and mark making tools to do so.🔢🔤

We have had a special delivery at Ryandale. The children were super happy to see we have caterpillars again. We have been watching them grow over a couple of weeks. We will watch until they turn into beautiful butterflies.
We have had activities based around the life cycle of a butterfly, introducing symmetry and creating our own caterpillars.

Ryandale Hive have been exploring a wide range of areas to support children’s development. We have been encouraging physical development, communication, understanding of the world, expressive arts and design, literacy, mathematics, and personal, social, and emotional growth. These areas are essential for children, and we promote them by providing activities that reflect their interests and engage their curiosity.
