What a journey!

So many little hands, so many milestones, so many memories.

I am beyond proud of what we built and what we gave to this community. Thank you to every family who trusted us with their little ones over the years.

The doors may close, but the impact never will. 💜

Becky, Amy and Vicky will be heading to The Highland Laddie in Norton on Friday at 7:30pm for some informal farewell drinks.

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with very heavy hearts that we write to let you know that Norton Methodist Church Playgroup will be closing its doors on the 20th February after 49 years.

This playgroup has been part of the fabric of our community for nearly five decades, and saying goodbye is incredibly sad for everyone involved. Generations of children have played, learned, laughed, and grown within these walls, and it has been an absolute privilege to be a small part of that journey.

We want to thank each and every family who has supported the playgroup over the years. Whether you joined us recently or have been with us for longer, your trust, kindness, and support have meant more than we can put into words. Watching your children develop confidence, friendships, and a love of learning has been the most rewarding part of what we do.

We would also like to thank all past and present members of staff who have been part of Norton Methodist Church Playgroup over the years. Your dedication, care, and commitment have shaped countless young lives and helped make the playgroup what it has been for so many families.

This decision has not been an easy one. The sadness we feel comes from how deeply this playgroup is loved by staff, by families, and by the wider community. Norton Methodist Church Playgroup has always been about more than childcare; it has been about warmth, care, and belonging.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s early years, and for the memories we will treasure forever. While this chapter is coming to an end, the impact of the playgroup and the children who have passed through it will live on.

With our heartfelt thanks and very best wishes for the future.

Hi everyone, this is the timetable for the Santa bus around Norton on Sunday 14th December 🎅🏻 🧑‍🎄 🎁 🎄

🎄Thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas coffee morning today! Thank you to the volunteers and to everyone who baked, donated and bought raffle tickets. We raised a fabulous £603.44p. 🎄

✨ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Playgroup! ✨

We’ve had so much fun setting up our Christmas activities this week, and the room is looking wonderfully festive! 🎄❄️

The children will be able to enjoy:

🎁 Snowy small-world play with our winter village and cheeky Christmas characters
🎄 Decorate-the-tree with felt ornaments and festive shapes
📚 Cosy Christmas story corner filled with our favourite seasonal books
🌟 Nativity exploration with figures and story sets
🐧 Winter animals sensory tuff tray with snow, scoops, and lots to discover.

We can’t wait to see the little ones dive into all the Christmas magic. ❤️

Hi everyone, just a snippet of some of our raffle prizes. First prize, food hamper donated by the staff. Other prizes include a beautiful handmade door wreath donated by Dees Door Decor, a wellness hamper donated by Cherrypot Crafts, a voucher donated by Sunkissed Glow and Beauty by Cheryl and a chocolate hamper donated by Tracey Gray, a friend of Vicky’s.

Like many small groups, we’ve been hit hard by recent changes to early years funding, and our numbers have dropped. We don’t want to see this special place, which has welcomed generations of local families, disappear.

Welcome back to Playgroup everyone. Hope you had a lovely break. Just to let you know, we are holding a coffee morning in a few weeks time. All the proceeds go straight back into Playgroup funds. Just £3 for a hot drink and mince pie (or shortbread if you’re like me and don’t like mince pies 😆) Where else would you get a cuppa for £3 😜 They’ll be a raffle, cake stall, “guess the weight of the Christmas cake” and some craft stalls. We would love to see you
