πŸ† MUSICAL MAVERICKS πŸ†

Did you know, all students at the start of their musical journey will bring home a target sheet covering all the basics of their new instrument! Once completed, they’ll receive a certificate to celebrate their progress!

There are three levels to complete:
πŸ₯‰ Bronze
πŸ₯ˆ Silver
πŸ₯‡ Gold

After finishing all three, students will be well on their way towards Grade 1 🎡

These sheets are a great way for you to see what your child is learning and how you can support them at home πŸ’š

Keep an eye out for these in your child’s instrument case or book!

🎢 Side by Side with the BBC Philharmonic 🎢

What an incredible day for our young musicians at the BBC Philharmonic Studios in Salford on Sunday! 🀩

They spent the day diving into four orchestral pieces, working side by side with professional BBC Philharmonic players and learning from the very best. The full orchestra was led by the fantastic conductor Helen Harrison, bringing everything together in an inspiring afternoon performance.

The progress they made in just one day was amazing, and the final performance? Absolutely brilliant! 🌟

We’re so proud of every single musician who took part. What an experience! πŸ‘πŸŽ»

We’ve had an incredible day at the BBC Philharmonic Studios! 🎢

Our young musicians had the fantastic opportunity to play side by side with members of the orchestra, as well as other talented young musicians from music hubs across Greater Manchester ⭐

In just one day, they worked together to rehearse and bring four orchestral pieces to life. The dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm they showed was amazing and the end-of-day performance sounded absolutely fantastic! We’re so proud of everyone involved. πŸ‘

Inspiring the musicians of tomorrow

The Music Service provides opportunities for instrumental tuition both in schools and at the Music Centre. The majority of lessons take place in school during the teaching day and information can be found by contacting your child’s school. In addition, there are opportunities to have lessons at the Music Centre and you can find information by contacting us.

We also recommend that anybody having lessons should play or sing in an ensemble as this helps to promote instrumental and ensemble skills alongside general musicianship, thereby making their musical journey far more enjoyable. Information about all the groups can be found on the Ensembles page of our website and this is a fantastic way to make friends and have fun while improving your playing or singing.

For many years the children of have been making great music in the classrooms, sports halls and broom cupboards of Stockport schools. We now have a state-of-the-art recording studio and mobile studio to capture those musical moments. The mobile studio can be taken almost anywhere to record a school band, school choir or any other special musical moments. The static studio can be hired for use at the music service, or our specialist staff can create backing tracks on request.

Please visit our website or email us for more information on the wide range of services we provide in the Stockport area.
