🚧Work is now underway on the construction of our new school funded by the Department for Education, with main contractor Galliford Try officially on site 🏫

🏗️ The secure site compound is taking shape and a new access road is well underway. The children have been very excited to see the digger removing the top layer of grass ahead of foundation works 🚜🌱

We’re pleased to offer our High Flying Bluebirds Breakfast & After School Club, providing high-quality childcare for our families in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.
🥳We are also pleased to welcome nursery children to our provision.

🕒 Session Times (term time only):
• Breakfast Club: 7:45am – 8:45am
• After School Club: 3:15pm – 5:00pm or 5:45pm (subject to demand)

💷 Fees:
• Breakfast Club from £6.25
• After School Club from £9.00 (short session) or £11.50 (extended session)

🤹‍♀️Our club offers a variety of stimulating and creative activities, helping children start and end their school day in a positive, supportive setting.

We are also pleased to share that our Reception places are fully allocated, with a waiting list in place — a reflection of the strong community spirit and trust in our school. We do, however, have a small number of places available in Key Stage 1 for families who may be looking to join us.

👩‍💼We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated Year 6 teacher to join our successful, friendly and inclusive school in a unique and exciting role. A Week of Nursery Rhymes at Thorn Grove! 📚✨

What a fantastic week we’ve had at Thorn Grove celebrating World Book Day with our whole-school focus on Nursery Rhymes!

Throughout the week, each class explored different nursery rhymes, helping the children develop fluency through rhythm and phrasing. In the afternoons, the children also took part in art projects linked to specific skills, all working towards a final piece. We’ve seen some wonderful creations including clay bowls for the Three Bears 🐻🐻🐻, a new shoe for Cinderella 👠 and even a replica of London Bridge!

On Thursday, the children came together to share nursery rhymes through choral reading and had great fun guessing the staff costumes too. 👸🧙🧜‍♀️

Thank you, as always, for your support in sending the children to school looking so fabulous — the costumes were amazing!
