Today, our students went head-to-head with parents and carers in a brilliant Sports Day Cupcake Bake-Off!
Everyone worked incredibly hard to create a fantastic selection of colourful, delicious-looking cupcakes, ready to be enjoyed at tomorrowβs Sports Day. We can confirm that they look far too tempting to resist! π
The cupcakes will be available to buy during the Friends of Pear Tree Mini Fair, which will be running alongside Sports Day tomorrow.

One of our fabulous parents, Anna, is taking on an incredible challenge as she swims an amazing 5.25 miles across Coniston Water in the Lake District! πββοΈ
We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly grateful that Anna has chosen to support Pear Tree High School through her fundraising efforts. Taking on such a demanding challenge is no small feat, and we know the whole Pear Tree community will join us in wishing her the very best of luck as she prepares for the big day. We are really excited to launch our new whole-school house system, The Ember of the Orchard. πͺ΄
All students have now been placed into one of four houses, Orlando Oak, Mia Maple, West Willow or Silva Birch; each representing the different ways in which our students grow - including wellbeing, courage, community and curiosity. Each half term, students will take part in a House Challenge during the school day, earning House Points for their effort, progress and teamwork. π
We will share updates so you can follow along with how each house is doing. At the heart of this, is the idea that every student grows differently, but we are all part of one community. The house that shows the most consistent effort and support for others will be entrusted with the Ember, with a celebration reward for the winning House at the end of the year. We are really excited to bring the whole school together through this and celebrate the many ways our students grow.
Keep your eyes peeled for updates!

π Sponsored Walk Success! π
Today, our incredible staff team took on a sponsored walk of just under 7km across the beautiful Peak District, and what a day it was! π
We navigated a range of tricky terrains along the way, from uneven rocky paths, mud and streams to challenging inclines, but spirits remained high! The weather was hot, but absolutely beautiful, making it a perfect day to be outdoors and working together towards such a special cause.
There were plenty of smiles, lots of encouragement, and (by the end!) a few very tired legs, but every step was worth it. π£π
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families and supporters who have donated so far. Your kindness and generosity truly mean so much to us and the fantastic students we support. Our fundraising page will remain open until June, when our caretaker, Callum, completes his marathon challenge! πββοΈ
There is still plenty of time to support us if you would like to, every contribution makes a difference. Well done to everyone involved today, what an achievement! WE REACHED OUR TARGET!!! ππ«

More exciting news! Callum, our fantastic Care Taker, has decided to run his first ever marathon to join in the fundraising efforts for Pear Tree. If you would like to support either cause, please use the Crowdfunder link below. We truly appreciate your support, and have been blown away by your generosity so far! ππββοΈ
