🌟 New UK Guidance on Screen Time for Under 5s 🌟

The UK Government has released updated advice to support healthy screen habits for young children.

The key message? Keep screen use to a minimum wherever possible.

👶 Under 2 years:
Avoid screens, except for special shared moments like family video calls.

🧒 Ages 2–5 years:
Aim to limit screen time to no more than 1 hour per day.

📺 When screens are used:
Choose slow-paced, simple programmes that are easy for little minds to follow, and whenever possible, enjoy them together to support learning and connection.

📚✨ World Book Day! ✨📚

We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day at nursery! The children were so excited to bring in their favourite books from home and share them with their friends. It was lovely to see everyone talking about the stories they love and exploring different books together.

Throughout the day we enjoyed lots of reading for pleasure – snuggling up with our books, listening to stories, looking at pictures, and discovering new characters and adventures. Sharing books together helps build a love of reading, sparks imagination, and creates special moments for everyone.

As the year comes to an end, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued support throughout the year. It has truly been a lovely year at the nursery, filled with so many special moments and we, as a nursery, are so grateful to share your children’s learning and development with you.

I would also like to say a special thank you to our wonderful staff team, who continue to show such hard work and dedication in their roles. The care, support and commitment they provide to the children every day is truly appreciated.

We cannot wait to welcome everyone back and start 2026 together, with lots of exciting plans ahead.

Please note that the nursery will re-open on Monday 5th January. Emails, Famly messages and phone calls will not be monitored during the Christmas break.

Christmas Pantomime Trip🎄✨

Yesterday, our Pre-School children had the wonderful opportunity to watch Aladdin at the Stockport Plaza. The children were absolutely captivated by the colourful costumes, lively music and plenty of laughter throughout the performance.

It was a magical experience that created lots of smiles, excitement and memories, and the children have loved talking about their favourite parts back at Pre-School. A big thank you to the staff and helpers who made the trip possible, and to the Stockport Plaza for such a fantastic show. ✨🎭

Letter Writing📝

Our wonderful little 2-year-olds took part in writing their very own letters to Father Christmas! With crayons in hand, they carefully wrote (with a little help!) a special list of presents they’d love to find under the tree. From toy cars and dolls to anything that sparkles, their imaginations were overflowing. ❤️

Once their letters were decorated with colourful scribbles, stickers, and BIG smiles, we walked over to the post box together to send their letters off to Father Christmas ✉️✨ Let's hope they get some of their wishes🤞

Supporting the Poppy Appeal🌺

We’re proud to share that Nurture is teaming up with the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal this year to help support veterans and their families. ❤️

You’ll find a selection of poppies and poppy-themed items available in the office, including:

-Traditional pin poppies
-Stickers for little ones
-Rubber wristbands
-Zipper poppies

All donations, big or small, go directly towards supporting the amazing work of the Royal British Legion. 🙏

If you’d like to take part, please pop into the office and make a donation in exchange for your poppy. Together, we can help remember and honour those who have served. 🌹
