πŸ§™β€β™€οΈβœ¨ Potion Making Fun! βœ¨πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ

Our Toddlers have been busy getting creative this week with a magical potion tray! πŸ‘‘πŸͺ„

The children had lots of fun exploring, mixing and experimenting with different colours, textures and ingredients as they created their very own magical potions. πŸ§ͺ✨

This type of sensory and imaginative play offers so many benefits for our toddlers, including:

🌟 Developing fine motor skills through scooping, pouring, stirring and transferring
🌟 Encouraging creativity and imagination as they create their own magical recipes
🌟 Supporting language development as they describe what they can see, feel and do
🌟 Building early maths skills through counting, measuring and comparing
🌟 Encouraging curiosity and exploration as they discover what happens when ingredients are mixed
🌟 Promoting social skills through sharing resources, taking turns and playing alongside their friends
🌟 Supporting sensory development through exploring different textures, smells, colours and consistencies

Most importantly, they had lots of fun learning through play! πŸ’•πŸ‘‘πŸ§ͺ

🌟 We Got a 5! 🌟

We're delighted to share that following a routine inspection this morning, Nurture has once again been awarded the highest possible Food Hygiene Rating of 5! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A huge congratulations goes to our wonderful cook, Kat, for this fantastic achievement. Not only does she maintain the very highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene, but she also prepares a delicious variety of fresh, homemade, nutritious meals that our children absolutely love. πŸ½οΈπŸ’š

We're incredibly proud of Kat and all the hard work she puts in every single day to ensure our children enjoy healthy, tasty meals in a safe environment.

Well done, Kat – a very well-deserved achievement! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

Park Adventures at Etherow Park 🚌🌳

Our Pre-School children enjoyed a little bus ride to Etherow Park for an afternoon of exploring! 🚌

They spent some time feeding the ducks and geese, watching the waterfall and enjoying a picnic snack together. As they explored the park, the children loved spotting different things in nature and talking about what they could see around them. 🌿

The highlight of their trip was when one of the park wardens found a tiny baby frog in the river and kindly let them have a closer look! 🐸 The children were fascinated and asked lots of questions as they carefully observed it before it was safely returned to its natural habitat.

A lovely afternoon filled with fresh air, curiosity and plenty of smiles! πŸ’š

πŸŽ“βœ¨ Pre-School Graduation 2026 βœ¨πŸŽ“

On Friday, we had the pleasure of celebrating our wonderful Pre-School children as they graduated from Nurture Nursery.

We held a special graduation ceremony where each child was presented with a medal and a graduation certificate to celebrate everything they have achieved during their time with us. One of our favourite moments was hearing what each child wants to be when they grow up, as our staff proudly shared their dreams with everyone. We had aspirations of becoming a nurse, a road sweeper, a train driver and even a mum, a lovely reminder that every dream is special and worth celebrating. πŸ’š

After the ceremony, families enjoyed drinks and refreshments while spending time together, catching up with one another and celebrating this very special milestone.

To all of our amazing graduates, we couldn't be prouder of each and every one of you. It has been a privilege to watch you grow into kind, confident and curious little learners and we know you are going to do incredible things as you begin your Reception journey.

Thank you to all of our wonderful children and families for letting us be part of such an important stage in your child's life. We wish each and every one of you the very best of luck as you start Reception this September. We know you'll all shine! 🌟

Congratulations, Class of 2026! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ“

🐸🌸Garden Explorers🌸🐸

This afternoon, 2-3's enjoyed exploring a water tray featuring the fascinating life cycle of a frog. The children loved discovering each stage, talking about the differences, and learning new vocabulary such as 'frogspawn' and 'tadpole'.

As they explored the pond, they also took time to admire the beautiful flowers, discussing their different colours and sizes.

Activities like these encourage children's language development, build their understanding of the natural world and develop observation, communication and early science skillsπŸ’š

🌳🫧 Local Park Adventure 🫧🌳

Our babies had a lovely morning exploring our local park today! They enjoyed spending time on the swings, sharing a tasty snack together and were fascinated as they watched bubbles floating through the air. There were lots of smiles, giggles and curious little faces as they reached up to catch them. πŸ₯°

Outings into our local community are such an important part of our children's learning. Exploring new environments helps to build confidence, encourages curiosity and supports their understanding of the world around them. The swings help to develop balance and coordination, while simple experiences like watching bubbles create opportunities for communication, shared attention and sensory exploration. πŸ’š

πŸͺ΄πŸž Garden Animals Week 🐞πŸͺ΄

We had such an exciting surprise in the garden this morning! While searching for garden animals, Pre-School discovered an insect we'd never seen before. We took lots of photos, including some brilliant close-ups, so we could have a really good look and see if we could work out what it was... and we think it was a baby dragonfly! 🀩

The children were full of questions and loved finding out more about dragonflies, their life cycle and what they eat. The children showed lots of interest by asking questions such as, "Why is it not flying? Does it need help? What does a dragonfly eat?" πŸ₯°

Moments like these are such a lovely way for children to learn. They were using their observation skills, asking questions, solving problems, and learning all about the natural world around them - all through their own curiosity and discovery. πŸŒΏπŸ’š

We can't wait to see what other amazing creatures we find this week! πŸ›πŸ¦‹

🌞 Keeping Cool During the Heatwave 🌞

Like many early years settings across the country, we are experiencing exceptionally high temperatures outside this week. We know how challenging this weather can be for both children and staff, and we are aware that some settings have unfortunately had to close due to the extreme conditions.

At our nursery, the wellbeing and comfort of our children remain our top priority. We have put a range of measures in place to help everyone stay safe and cool, including:

πŸ’§ Frequent water drinking breaks throughout the day
πŸ’¦ Lots of fun water play activities
πŸͺŸ Keeping blinds closed to reduce heat from direct sunlight
🌳 Making the most of shaded areas where possible

Most importantly, we are incredibly pleased that our recently installed permanent air conditioning units have made a huge difference. They are helping us maintain a comfortable environment for the children and staff, allowing us to continue providing high-quality care despite the soaring temperatures outside.

We would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our amazing team. Their dedication, energy and commitment to caring for the children never wavers, even in such challenging conditions. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do each and every day.

Thank you to all our families for your continued support. Please remember to send children in with appropriate clothing, sun hats and named water bottles during this warm weather.

Stay safe and keep cool! β˜€οΈ
