🏃🏻‍♂️ Stockport Schools’ Athletics 🏃🏼‍♀️

Yesterday we took 40 students to Woodbank Park for the Stockport Schools’ Athletics Championships.

Students took part in a range of events, including runs, throws, and jumps, and represented Werneth with enthusiasm, determination, and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and represented the school so positively.
A special congratulations goes to Lacy and Rowan (Year 10), who both achieved podium finishes — a fantastic achievement. Well done to everyone involved!

Congratulations to all of the team for this achievement. Especially to our very own Teddy, Max and Henry! Well done Stockport! ⚽️🏆

What a bank-holiday weekend for Josh Kay (14) representing Woodley CC 2nd XI 💙💛

An outstanding all-round performance:
🏏 66* (not out)
🏏 56* (not out)
🎯 4 wickets in BOTH games

And he was also flying the Woodley colours on Monday for the Greater Manchester Cricket League U15s:
🏏 16 runs
🎯 1 wicket

Josh’s determination and dedication are really paying off, and he’s showing he’s got a huge future ahead of him. He’s going to go far in the game 👏

For generations, his voice has brought the wonders of nature into our homes and inspired millions to care for our planet. A true legend, storyteller, and national treasure.

As a school, it is so important to recognise and celebrate individuals like Sir David who inspire curiosity, learning, and respect for the world around us. Today staff have dressed in colours representing nature, our weekly quiz was all about Sir David and our Science department have arranged activities that have helped us better understand his brilliance.

Thank you for a lifetime of wonder and wisdom 💚

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Rowan from our U15s squad has been selected to represent Cheshire in their Summer Festival 🏏🏏

Seeing our juniors progress to the County stages is what it’s all about. Rowan, your hard work, talent and sportsmanship have truly paid off. The whole club is behind you and we can’t wait to see you out there in the Cheshire colours.

🏆 A Werneth World Champion! 🏆

Congratulations to Halle P in year 7 who is now a world champion cheer leader!

Halle competed in the world championships in Florida and her team, Crimson Heat Hydra, placed 1st overall out of 93 entries!

An incredible achievement, Halle. We are very proud of you.
