✨ “Year 11” (😳 already?!) 5 for Praise winners✨

Every Wednesday, our Senior Leadership Team meets to discuss how our students are getting on and to recognise those who have gone above and beyond.

For this week's 5 for Praise selections, our Maths and English students were nominated by their teachers in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Year 10 exams.

Our Head of Year nominees are the students who took part in the Head Boy and Head Girl interviews. They all represented themselves brilliantly throughout the process, and we wanted to recognise the commitment, confidence and leadership they showed by celebrating each of them.

Congratulations to all of our 5 for Praise students – you should be incredibly proud of your hard work and achievements!

🥾 Duke of Edinburgh Expedition – Day 2 🥾

A huge well done to all of our Duke of Edinburgh students who successfully completed today’s hike, making their way down to Etherow Park.

Our students should be very proud of themselves for this achievement.

A special thank you to Mr McKenna and his team for their excellent organisation, support, and encouragement.

Well done, everyone – enjoy a well-earned rest! 👏🌿

🔥 A great evening at camp! The students enjoyed making a campfire, toasting marshmallows, and after a busy day, they were all tucked up in bed at a very reasonable time.
Their behaviour was impeccable throughout and they have been a real credit to themselves and the school.

This morning they made their own breakfast, camp was packed up, everyone was briefed on the route, and they’ve now set off on the final stretch to Etherow Park! 🥾🏕️

🥾🏕️ Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award – Day 1: Survived!

Day 1 is almost complete and we're pleased to report that everyone is still smiling (mostly!).
Today's achievements included:

✅ Hiking for miles. 🥾
✅ Navigating... with varying degrees of confidence. 🗺️😂
✅ Pitching tents that are still standing 🏕️
✅ Cooking their own dinner that we would most certainly award a DofE star to 💫
✅ Worked as a team throughout and have made us all very proud teachers. 😊

There have been plenty of laughs, a few "I'm sure it's this way..." moments, and some very tired legs, but all students have been brilliant.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings…
