🇳🇱 Reloved has gone international! ♻️💚
Jill and I are in Utrecht in the Netherlands this week representing Reloved as part of the Place-based Circular Society Innovations research project.
It’s a three-year research project looking at how projects like ours can create communities that are not only more environmentally sustainable, but also fairer, more inclusive and more resilient and, importantly, how the place and community around a project helps it to grow and succeed.
Over the next couple of days we’ll be working alongside researchers, councils and community changemakers from Greater Manchester, London, Chicago, Turku and Utrecht, sharing what we’ve learned through Reloved and learning from some brilliant examples of circular projects here in the Netherlands.
For us, Reloved has never just been about stopping perfectly good school uniform going to waste. It’s about making sure that uniform gets back into the hands of children who need it, removing stigma and finding ways for communities to share what they already have.
And as we start thinking about what comes next for Reloved and how our model could work beyond Stockport, the timing couldn’t really be better.
Tomorrow we’re heading out across Utrecht to see some of these ideas in action, so I’ll share a few updates (and probably steal a few good ideas 😉) as we go.
