Thanks for the memories Year 6 💚 🥹

At these times it hard to know what words to impart,
So we’ll use Dr Suess with some thoughtful words to start…

‘Today is your day
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away

You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose

So, Year 6 it doesn’t feel like 7 years since your start,
Yet we stand here today with very heavy hearts
It’s time to say farewell, although we prefer ‘hasta la vista’
As we hope you come back, cos we’re really gonna…miss ya!

Exceptionally talented individuals in every conceivable way
In your studies, in Robinwood and of course in your final play!
You’ve grown in character and strength in your time here
Proven you can tackle life’s challenges with confidence not fear

We are so proud of who you are and how much you’ve achieved
You’ll be forever a significant part of the awesome ‘Team Greave’
So, we thank you for the moments and memories we’ll treasure,
Sharing this time with you has been an absolute pleasure!

We started so we’ll finish with the man so wise,
So finally, what would Dr Suess advise…

‘So be sure when you step
Step with care and great tact
And remember that life's
A Great Balancing Act
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft
And never mix up your right foot with your left

And will you succeed?

The key dates booklet for 2023/24 is now available for you to view. A copy has been emailed to all of our parents and carers this afternoon

We hope that you find this document useful. The main key dates for school events/activities for the academic year 2023/24 are set out in this booklet and whilst this is not an exhaustive list, amendments and additions may be made throughout the year. Any changes or any new events we add to this booklet will be highlighted in yellow

Apparently, the chickens have heard how good Mr Goodlad's lessons are so they wanted in on the action 🐓 We can't blame them in all honesty!

What a day! Team Greave you were just incredible 💚

If you came along to our summer fair or took part in Greave Warrior, thank you. We are sure you will agree there was something for everyone and the smiling faces and lovely comments meant the world to us 🥰

Greave Summer Fair and Greave Warrior Update ⚠️

The weather looks set to worsen tomorrow so we have decided to bring some of the stalls and activities indoors 🎟 Festival hair, Greave Agents of Change and some of our games will still be based on the field

Greave Warrior will obviously still take place on the school field and has no impact on the course...it's all about getting as muddy as possible anyway! 😉

If you are taking part in Greave Warrior and thinking of coming indoors afterwards to have a gander or get involved with the games, activities and stalls could we ask that you to leave your muddy trainers at the door 👟 (slippers will not be provided) 🤣

There is also a handy map of the event site

Weather is looking wet and windy unfortunately, but we will make the decision first thing tomorrow morning should we need to move stalls and activities inside

Whatever the weather it will be a fun packed day for everyone, and Greave Warrior in the rain will just mean twice as much fun...and mud!

Thank you to James Beswick and his team of volunteers, Dave Ives, Darren Sumner of Romiley Motors, Liam Robinson and Governor David Stone - all of them giving up a day of work to set up the Greave Warrior assault course in the non stop rain today! You are legends and we truly appreciate it 💚

Unfortunately one of our pupil's bikes was taken from the school premises this week 🚨

The incident happened on Tuesday evening. Finlay had left his bike overnight in our school bike shed securely locked up with a bike lock. Unfortunately the next day the bike had gone and the lock had been snapped apart! This means someone would of had to gain access to school premises after we had closed

This makes us really sad, especially as Finlay loves riding his bike to school every day and makes a conscious effort to cycle rather than arriving by car!

If anyone local has CCTV or witnessed any suspicious please get in touch as we are desperate to reunite Finlay with his bike 🚲

Parents and Carers, don't forget that tomorrow is non uniform day in return for an item of chocolate that we can use on our chocolate tombola at the Summer Fair on Saturday

What a day it has been for Greave!

Our netball team hosted St Marks tonight 🏀

We are delighted to announce that our team made up of six magnificent netball players won 16-nil! 🏆

The team who practise every Monday evening played brilliantly from start to finish and were as usual an absolute credit to Greave 🏅

Shout out to the best netball coach in town...Mrs Thompson!

Super proud of you girls! Well done ❤️

Nursery Circus Fun Day....completed! 🥳🤡

We cannot begin to tell you how much fun we have all had today. From the special circus workshop and amazing tricks from Circus Sensible, to the circus themed games, popcorn, bubbles and dancing

Nursery mums and dads....your little cherubs will most definitely sleep well tonight 😴

We finally got to do sports day 👐

The grey skies didn't defeat us this time (even though they did test us at times!)

Pupils you were all incredible and showed great sportsmanship. We hope you enjoyed the day. Parents/carers that were able to attend - thank you for coming along - you do the best conga 🤣

Big thanks to Multiflex for putting on a great sporting event once again 🥇🥈🥉

The attention to detail is incredible and forms part of Thomas' learning journey this term all about our local area 💓

Next Friday is non uniform day in exchange for an item of chocolate that we can use on our chocolate tombola at Greave Summer Fair 👖👕🩳👗🧢

Pupils can bring a chocolate bar, box of chocolates, bag of chocolate, chocolate coins, white, dark or milk.....the options are endless as long as it is chocolate! 🍫

Managing Director of LNER (London North Eastern Railway) David Horne was suitably impressed with Greave Primary and their BSL and braille project at Romiley Station 👏👍
