Say Yes to Mess! 🎨🌿

Mud on knees, paint-covered fingers, sand in shoes and water everywhere. It might look like mess, but for children it can be an experiment, an adventure, a work of art or a new discovery.

We’ve launched The Mess Report, new research exploring how families feel about messy play and whether children today are getting enough opportunities to experience it.

After speaking to 1,000 UK parents of children under 10, we found that 79% agree messy play supports children’s development, creativity and wellbeing, yet 70% believe children today don’t get enough opportunities to get messy.

We’re calling this The Mess Gap.

The Mess Report explores what might be behind that gap, why opportunities to pour, squash, mix, dig, build, splash and create are so valuable, and how we can make more space for them in childhood.

At Kids Planet, we’re proud to say Yes to Mess because we know there is method in the mess, and behind every muddy handprint and paint splatter is an opportunity for learning.

We know that sleep is an important part of every child's growth, development and wellbeing. 💚

Recently, updated safer sleep guidance came into effect across the early years sector - reinforcing the importance of creating safer sleep environments for babies and young children.

At Kids Planet, safer sleep practices are embedded across our nurseries, and our teams work closely with families to support each child's individual routine.

We've shared a few simple reminders that can help create a safe and comfortable sleep environment both at nursery and at home.

Apprentices are an integral part of Kids Planet, developing their skills while making a difference in our nurseries every day. 💚

Alana joined Kids Planet unqualified in 2024 and began her apprenticeship through our in-house Training Academy. After completing her Level 3, she is now working towards her Level 5 and has progressed to Deputy Manager.

Her journey has taken her from learning on the job and gaining hands-on experience to developing the knowledge and skills to progress her career, supported by the people around her at Kids Planet.

We’re proud to continue investing in apprenticeships that support long-term development, progression and rewarding careers across Kids Planet.

A fresh new look. The same Kids Planet heart 💚

We've been working behind the scenes on a brand new look and feel, and we're proud to reveal our refreshed Kids Planet logo.

While our appearance is changing, our commitment to children and providing exceptional early years education and care remains exactly the same.

As we celebrate 18 years of Kids Planet, our new look reflects how far we've come, while staying true to the warmth, care and community feel that makes us who we are.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Here's to the next chapter together! ✨

We’re evolving how we keep our community safe 💚

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding excellence, we’re taking an even more careful approach to what we share on social media, and focusing on storytelling, activities and updates, with fewer identifiable images.

Over the coming weeks, this page will be closing as we transition to our new regional page Kids Planet Greater Manchester South and East, where you’ll still find all the latest news from your local nurseries in one place.

Keep an eye out for your new regional page and make sure you’re following to stay connected.

As always, Famly remains the best place for personalised updates about your child.

Thank you for being part of the Kids Planet family! 💫

🌏🪱♻️ Happy Earth Day! 🌏🪱♻️

We’ve had such a wonderful day in Preschool! Our little litter pickers did an amazing job on the Daisy Field, and to wrap things up, we enjoyed a delightful Stay and Play, planting beautiful flowers in the sunshine.

🌸🌼🍋Toddler room Stay&Play🍋🌼🌸

Yesterday, we welcomed our parents to join us for some spring themed activities.

We have been focusing on 'understanding the world' in Toddler room this term which has fell perfectly with the changes in weather and our environments.

During our stay and play, the children enjoyed activities covering mark making, sensory play, printing, recognising colours, colour mixing as well as gross motor skills relating to scooping and pouring.

It was lovely to be able to speak with the parents of the children in toddlers and demonstrate what we have been learning over the past few months.

We look forward to the next one! ❤️
