⚽️ And they’re off! ⚽️

Our small world football pitch has been a huge hit with the children this week! 🏆

After carefully creating the pitch, the children couldn’t wait to get playing. They gathered around to create teams, move the players into position, score goals and recreate their own football matches.

There was plenty of excitement as the children acted as players, coaches and commentators, announcing goals, celebrating victories and sharing match results with their friends! 📣⚽️

Small world play encourages communication, imagination, storytelling, turn-taking and teamwork, all while following the children’s interests. It was wonderful to see so many children engaged together, creating their own football adventures.

We made the most of the last of the strawberries we picked this week! 🍓

The children helped to prepare, make, eat, and of course, make a little mess too! Using child-safe knives to chop the strawberries gave them the opportunity to practise risky play, develop their fine motor skills, strengthen hand-eye coordination, and build confidence in their physical abilities.

There was lots of pride in their work and even more excitement when it was time to enjoy the finished result together. ❤️

We were grateful for those clouds this morning! ☁️💦

They gave us just enough relief from the heat to enjoy some outdoor fun. We got the paddling pool out, had a water fight, and spent the morning splashing, laughing, and cooling off together.

Summer days are made for moments like these! ☀️💙

MakingMemories

It was a bit of a hot one today with the Music Bus! ☀️🍦

Our ice cream theme was the perfect way to cool off during the heatwave. We enjoyed singing The Ice Cream Shop Today and asking, “How many scoops do you want in your cone?” as we counted and sang together.

A lovely summer session filled with music, smiles, and plenty of imaginary ice cream! 🎶💛

🏴⚽️ IT’S COMING HOME! ⚽️🏴

We’ve been working so hard on creating our very own England Fan Zone, and it has been a huge hit with the children! ❤️🤍

The children have loved exploring all the different dressing-up accessories, trying on hats, sunglasses, wigs and giant foam hands, waving their flags and showing their support for England. There has been lots of cheering, chanting, laughter and excitement as everyone got into the football spirit! 🙌⚽️

What we loved most was seeing the children make the space their own. Whether they were dressed head-to-toe in England colours or combining football accessories with their favourite costumes, their imaginations were shining through every moment. 🌟

Creating experiences like this gives children opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills, friendships and a sense of belonging as they come together to celebrate a shared event.

Safe to say our little supporters are match-day ready…

📚✨ Our brand-new Playroom book bags have arrived! ✨📚

We’re so excited to be handing these out to our preschool children as part of our library scheme.

Each child will be able to choose a book to take home, share with their family and enjoy together. Once they’ve finished, they can simply bring it back and swap it for a new adventure. 💛

Reading together helps to build language skills, spark imagination and create those special moments of connection between children and their grown-ups.

We can’t wait to see which stories become firm favourites and hear all about the books our little readers discover along the way. 📖
