~Remembrance Day 2024~
We have been focusing on remembering through our adult-led activities, circle times and nursery outings. Children have created their very own poppies and created displays within our nursery windows to show our appreciation. Our Prep and Pre-School children visited our local park to listen for the Remembrance Day cannon and participated in a minute silence❤️

“What smells are associated with Autumn?…”🤎
Our Pre-School Children loved to explore different Autumn Scents implemented within an Autumn painting activity. Children were encouraged to paint their own design using pinecones, cinnamon sticks and paintbrushes. This activity not only stimulated their senses but also allowed them to be creative and express their individuality. Process art is a form of artistic expression that focuses on the creative journey exploring different materials. It values the process as a valuable learning experience and encourages self-expression and problem-solving.

~Halloween Celebrations 2024👻🤍~
Over the last week we have all enjoyed wonderful learning opportunities as we celebrated Halloween. Our Halloween Party yesterday was a huge success which was filled with balloons, biscuit decorating, party tea, treat tables and pin the nose on the Pumpkin. It was lovely to see children attending Nursery in the spooky spirit in their Halloween costumes.

~Pumpkin Competition 2024~🧡🎃
Thank you SO much to all the families that entered our Pumpkin competition this year. All of the entries are truly wonderful, unique and lots of hard work went into preparing them. Children were able to showcase their masterpiece to their peers talking about its appearance and how it was created. This sparked excitement, interest and supported home learning experiences✨

‘Can we decorate the Tree with Autumn Objects?’

Our Toddler Children last week explored a variety of Autumnal objects during an activity which encouraged them to create an Autumn tree whilst stimulating their senses. Also discussing about the loose parts they could find and being encouraged to count them. This activity supported children’s communication and language development whilst also supporting their physical development. As our ethos states we are thriving to provide children with the understanding of nature and how they can be actively involved.

‘Autumn Leaf Lanterns🤎🍂’
Our Prep Children created their very own Autumn Lanterns last week. They were created with heaps of excitement, interest and willingness to succeed. Children collected their own leaves from our Forest Environment and used them as decoration for their Lanterns. The Lanterns were truly wonderful especially lit up for everyone to see💡

World Space Week🪐🚀🔭…
Pre-School’s curriculum focus this week has been our Solar System. It has been incredibly exciting for them to learn all about our planets. This has been implemented through songs, activities and stories. Children were challenged to create their very own solar system and what wonderful pictures were created. Activities around this subject feed children’s curiosity and creativity supporting them to be thinkers and explorers. This helps and sparks a lifelong passion for the planets and stars. It also helped them received how important our planet is and offered them the opportunity to compare our planet to others.
