The Ridge Climbing Centre

An important announcement from the Ridge Climbing Centre team.

To our incredible community of climbers: it is with a truly heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of our climbing centre. Our final day of trading will be Saturday 25th July 2026.

Like many small, independent sports facilities, the current economic climate and skyrocketing overhead costs have left us with no viable path forward. We have poured our hearts and souls into keeping this space alive, but we have reached the end of the line.

We are immensely proud of the walls we built, the friendships that started here, and the community that made this place feel like a second home every single day. Thank you for every send, every belay, and every shared laugh.

We are open as normal from now until Saturday 25th July. We would love nothing more than to see the mats packed out one last time. Come down, run your projects, catch up with friends, and help us give this space the send-off it truly deserves.

Social Climbing - every Wednesday evening at The Ridge!

Led by one of our lovely climbing instructors from 7pm til 9pm.

All levels of climber are welcome (belay experience required for roped walls*) - you're guaranteed a belay partner or boulder buddy and a fun inclusive vibe. If you fancy giving it a try we'd love to see you there!

No additional cost, just the price of your day entry to the centre.

*If you're interested in joining the social but are not currently a competent belayer we'd recommend our Beginners or Learn to Belay courses - more details on our website.

We run instructor supervised kids sessions Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Our The Ridge Kids Climbing Club classes teach climbing technique, rope skills and belaying or our Saturday 10am Kids Climbing is perfect for those who just want to clip in and have a good climb!

Friday - Climbing Club
4pm - 1 hour - Minis (ages 5 to 7)
5pm - 2 hours - Kids (ages 7 to 12)
7pm - 2 hours - Youth (ages 12-16)

Saturday
10am - 1 hour - Kids Climbing (ages 5 to 12+)
11am - 2 hours - Climbing Club (ages 7 to 16)
