Little Gardeners at Work! 👩🏼‍🌾🌱

This week the 2-3's took part in a lovely gardening activity, planting flower seeds for our outdoor planter.
They explored soil textures, talked about what plants need to grow, and practised careful hand-eye coordination as they sowed their seeds. 🪴👨🏼‍🌾

We look forward to observing the changes together and supporting the children's understanding of growth, care and the natural world.🌷🌼

💚💚💚What a wonderful Mental Health Awareness week we are having. The children have taken part in so many activities to support their mental wellbeing, and likewise so have the team and parents. Educating the children to understand, recognise, and be able to talk about their emotions is so important in supporting them, but for those that already struggle with their mental health, it is important that they feel supported too.
As a setting we work hard to ensure our team and families know that we are there for them. This week the staff have benefited from Mental Health support bags, taken part in "The Great Nursery Bakeoff", created pictures of their co-workers (that one really raised spirits😊), completed exercises such as 'star jumps' before work and had a pyjama day. Our parents have joined us for 'Breakfast and a chat' with our resident mental health first aider and supported our fundraising efforts with our cake and bake sale 🍰🍰🧁🧁

🧘‍♀️ Mindful Moments for Mental Health Awareness Week! 🧘

Today our wonderful 2-3's enjoyed a calming and playful yoga session with Claire! ✨

The children explored gentle stretches, big breaths and simple movements that helped their bodies relax and their minds slow down. 🌿

They loved copying the poses, watching each other, and sharing smiles as they moved together. 💛

🩷🎨🥰💑🟢This week we are focusing on Mental Health Awareness, and our amazing Upper Preschool have taken part in a fantastic activity that demonstrates how they can spread love and kindness.
Starting with a paper 'apron' and a dab of paint, the children then went on to hug each other, showing how love and kindness can be shared by one big hug! Not only that, the children have created wonderful love & kindness artwork as an everlasting memory🩷🎨🥰💑🟢

The children have been eagerly spending quality time with our Preschool Chick Romilly🐥🐥
The children have been holding her, talking about how she has changed, how she has become fluffy, that she has grown feathers and that her wings are "really big!"
Romilly also showed her love for her Mother Hen Lisa as she followed her around the carpet!
Romilly has been a wonderful addition to the nursery and we will be sad when she returns to her real Mother Hen back at the farm this Friday🐥🐥🐥

Our curious 2-3's have been exploring countries around the world, and today we arrived in France! 🥐🥖

We excitedly stepped into our very own mini pâtisserie 🍰👩🏼‍🍳

The children whisked, stirred and created their own French style cakes - with plenty of smiles (and a few cheeky tastes) A delicious way to explore the world 🌍✈️

Our Preschool children have been having an EGG-citing time waiting for our eggs to hatch🥚🐣🐥 we are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of Baby Romilly our gorgeous feathered new friend!
The children have been so happy to meet our chick and have had the opportunity to handle her, stroke her and hear her VERY loud chirps! She is also showing great resilience by going on a tour of the nursery to meet the rest of the children😍😍
The children have extended their knowledge by learning about the lifecycle of chickens and showed their care and tenderness in the way they have handled her. Watch this space for more EGG-cellent updates🐥🐥🐥

✨ Light & Colour Exploration ✨

Our 2-3's loved exploring with torches and colourful sensory shapes, watching the light change as it shone through different colours. 🔦

This hands-on play supports early scientific thinking, problem-solving and language development - all while feeling magical and fun for the children. 🌈

🎨 World Art Day Fun! 🎨

Today our Lower pre-schoolers celebrated World Art Day with colourful, dot-tastic creations inspired by Yayoi Kusama. Using paint, pipettes, and feathers, the children explored dripping, dropping, spotting and sweeping to make vibrant, textured masterpieces. 🧑‍🎨

🌼 Spring Adventures for Our Two‑Year‑Olds! 🌼

Our wonderful two‑year‑old's enjoyed a lovely outing today as they headed to the shop to choose some beautiful spring flowers. They explored colours, textures, and smells - and showed such excitement picking out the perfect blooms. 🌻

After the shop, they continued their adventure at the park, where the children searched for even more signs of nature. From leaves and blossoms to sticks and tiny treasures, they were full of curiosity and chatter.

We’ll be using the flowers they chose for spring observational painting next week, giving the children a chance to look closely at the details they discovered today and turn them into artwork. 🌿✨
