Welcome to Reading Fairy Stockport

Created by early reading experts, Reading Fairy classes for babies, toddlers and pre-school children lay the foundation for learning to read and loving books for life. We believe in learning through play and our action-packed classes across the UK and online include: fun phonics and word games; sensory and performance storytelling; interactive songs and nursery rhymes; speaking and listening activities; picture book time and more! Reading Fairy is divided into four stages linked to your child’s age and development from Stage 1: Book Babies to Stage 4: Reading Recruits. Each Reading Fairy stage has been written using the latest research and best early years practice. Reading Fairy’s gentle progression grows with your child as they build core literacy skills and nurture a love of reading. Hundreds of unique Reading Fairy resources and activities have been written and multi-sensory props curated to ensure your child enjoys learning in every class including: first phonics and word cards, Talkabout Cards, story maps, activity sheets, tactile letters, musical instruments, puppets, sensory story props such as scarves, ribbons and bubbles - and of course the best children’s books!

Today I have been seeing classes from the other side with our new Reading Fairy owner Liv greeting families and helping introduce Reading Fairy and our class songs. It is lovely to see the Reading Fairy joy from the other side of the mats and to see Liv begin to stretch her fairy wings. Her wonderful, warm smile is definitely winning over the little ones! We still have 3 weeks of term left... Jungle fun starts next week and I will be soaking up as much Reading Fairy magic as I can before I handover at the end of October 📚🧚‍♀️

What a fantastic first week back at classes we have had. It has been wonderful to see so many familiar faces and have a good catch up. All the little ones have got so big over the summer! It has also been lovely to welcome some new families too and I hope you all enjoyed your first session ❤️📚.

This term is extra special for me as it will be my last! As many of you know, I have been looking for the perfect person to hand my Reading Fairy wings to as I return to classroom teaching full time and I am very happy to say I have found her... the amazing Liv 📚🧚‍♀️ After many chats, we finally met up over the summer and signed on the dotted line.

Liv has attended classes with both her two children and has a real passion for the Reading Fairy programme. She will be popping into classes throughout term to get to know everyone and I know all my families will welcome her with warm smiles and lots of Reading Fairy fun.

Classes are back this week 🙌😀 and we are starting our term with our ever popular farmyard topic 🐷🐮🐴. We will all be meeting some farmyard animals, singing songs, telling stories and reading some lovely farmyard books.

Alongside this, our Toddler Tales and Story Stars are exploring aaa...apple🍎 while our Reading Recruits will look at sss..spoon🥄, aaa...apple🍎 and ttt...🚂.

I will especially be thinking of our fabulous Reading Recruits starting their new adventure - I know you are more than ready and cannot wait to hear about your journeys.

Also a “Good luck hug” to all those parents and carers who are sending their children to school for the first time ❤️.

I always see September as the "start of the year" as I've always had a job based around term times. It's a great way to start a fresh, get some goals in and enjoy the ride

Fees are now due for the term. Please note that for our classes, no monies are taken online at booking. All payments are via bank transfer on receipt of your booking confirmation.

If you are unsure if you have outstanding fees, please just get in touch, and I can check for you.

We now just have a few spaces left on our Reading Recruits classes for our 🍂 Autumn 1 Term🍂.

These sessions are perfect for little ones that will be starting school in 2027!

At Reading Recruits:
🦊 Phonic Fox helps us explore letters and sounds with props, songs, and games. Each week, we focus on 3 letter sounds in the same order as they are introduced at school.
🧚‍♀️We love our performance stories with Reading fairy. She helps us to develop our understanding of story structure and narrative language. We learn repeated phrases and actions while looking at characters and plots.
🐱 Chat Cat helps us to develop language and listening skills. We look at topic vocabulary, explore story maps, and play lots of listening games.
🐭We love to sing and dance with Music Mouse. Each week, she introduces us to original songs linked to our letter sounds. We also have lots of fun playing instruments and joining in with action and rhyming songs.
🐻Book Bear ends all our classes with a quality storybook. We repeat this story through our theme so it becomes familiar to the little ones, and they can join in with new vocabulary, repeated phrases, and explore the characters and plot.

We offer sibling, twin, and childminder discounts, and siblings under 2 years are welcome to come along for free to Reading Recruit sessions!
