🌟 POPPETS: A brand new adventure begins this September... introducing Fun Quest! 🌈✨

Our Poppets won't just be putting on a show this term—they'll be creating their very own movie! Over 14 magical weeks, they'll become brave explorers on an unforgettable quest to bring fun back to the world. Along the way they'll meet mischievous characters, solve exciting challenges, learn songs and dances, discover the magic of filmmaking, and most importantly, build confidence, creativity, teamwork and friendships while having an absolute blast. 💛

The adventure will end with a very special Hollywood-style Film Premiere on Saturday 12th December, where family and friends will walk the red carpet before watching our finished film together for the very first time. We already know this is going to be one of our most magical Poppets projects yet, and we can't wait to share the journey with you all! 🎬🍿✨

🎬 Friday Academy - Film & Television (Blue & Red Group) - Big Screen Classics project!

Lights, camera, action! This term, our Film & Television students will be stepping into the world of the movies as they recreate iconic scenes from age-appropriate classic films. Working as part of a production team, they'll explore everything from screen acting and camera angles to sound recording, directing and editing, while discovering what goes into bringing a memorable scene to life.

🎥The challenge? To recreate their chosen scene as closely as possible to the original - but without a Hollywood budget! Students will need to think creatively about costumes, props, locations and camera techniques to capture the magic of the film. It's a fantastic project that develops teamwork, technical filmmaking skills and problem-solving, with completed films being broadcast on PQA TV and selected entries going on to be screened at a PQA Film Festival.

🎄🎵 AM & PM Academies: Musical Theatre - Merry Musicals project!

Christmas is coming to PQA! It's the perfect opportunity for students to continue building confidence, stage presence and ensemble skills while performing music that's full of energy, fun and festive magic.

This project is all about celebrating the season together. From uplifting rehearsals to festive performances within the Academy, students will enjoy immersing themselves in the spirit of Christmas before turning their attention in the new year to the next exciting stage of their journey, including working towards our Scrapbook Scenes Comedy & Drama sharing in February.

🎬 Friday Academy - Film & Television (Green Group) - One Shot Wonders project!

This term, our Green Group Film & Television students will take on the exciting challenge of creating a film in just one continuous shot. That means no editing, no cuts and no second chances! Students will explore how careful planning, camera movement, acting and choreography all work together to tell a compelling story from beginning to end.

🎥This project encourages creativity, teamwork and problem-solving as students plan every detail of their production, from camera routes and character movements to timing and performance. Whether they choose comedy, drama, mystery or something completely original, they'll discover how powerful visual storytelling can be - even without a single edit. We can't wait to see the imaginative films they create!

🎭AM & PM Academies in September - Scrapbook Scenes project!

This term, our Comedy & Drama students will become theatre makers as they devise their own original performances inspired by themes that matter to them. Through games, improvisation and creative exploration, they'll develop characters, write dialogue, choreograph movement and discover how powerful theatre can be as a way of sharing ideas, telling meaningful stories and expressing their own ideas. 🤩

Inspired by the acclaimed theatre company The Paper Birds, this project encourages students to find their voice, work collaboratively and build confidence as they create a collection of original scenes.

🎭🍿Families will have the opportunity to see the finished work at a special Comedy & Drama sharing on Saturday 6th February 2027 - a wonderful chance to celebrate the creativity, imagination and confidence our students have developed throughout the project.

🎵Our students will take to the stage at Stockport Town Hall on Friday 13th November, joining G4 for what promises to be a truly magical festive concert. It's an incredible opportunity to perform in front of a live audience alongside professional performers, creating memories and experiences that will stay with them for years to come.

🎭 Friday Academy from September - Comedy & Drama: PQA Panto!

As we've been teasing over the past few weeks, we're thrilled to announce that PQA Stockport Friday Academy will be performing its very own PQA Panto! The performance will take place on Friday 22nd January, and we can't wait to share it with you. Students have already had a taste of what's to come, learning some of the choreography and comedy elements before the Summer holidays, and from September our Musical Theatre and Comedy & Drama modules will be fully focused on bringing this fantastic production to life. 🤩

Pantomime is one of the most exciting and rewarding projects we deliver at PQA. Along the way, students will develop a whole range of performance skills, including comedy timing, characterisation, audience interaction, improvisation and physical theatre, while continuing to build confidence, teamwork and stage presence. It's always a project full of laughter, energy and creativity, and we're so excited to see our students throw themselves into the wonderful world of pantomime! 💛
