Forest School weekly round up ….

Reception, years 4 and 6 have taken part in a bird feeder activity, where we threaded popcorn, raisins and multigrain hoops onto some wire and then hung them up in our Forest School area.

Years 4, 5 and 6 have taken part in a whittling activity, where one end of some willow, was whittled into a pointier shape and we used this end to collect leaves which have dropped to the Forest School floor.

Forest School weekly update post 2 ….

The children in reception enjoyed working in teams to complete an ‘Obstacle Course Relay Race’! They used gross motor skills to climb, jump, balance, throw and run! It ws very exciting to challenge the adults to a race as well!

Well done Reception!

Forest School weekly update post 1 ….

Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed using clay this week to create some fantastic tree faces!

They searched the Forest School area for natural finds such as leaves, stones and twigs to create the different features of the face!

First week back at Cheadle Heath Primary School and classes from Reception, Years 4, 5 and 6 joined in and re-connected with nature.

There was den building, bug hunting, bubble making and the focus activity was some beautiful bean and pasta artwork. I’m always so impressed with the creative skills demonstrated by the children, when materials are provided and they design their own patterns and pictures!

What a fantastic day at Forest School with Disley Forest School! KS1 got creative making their own Hapa Zome bunting - a fascinating Japanese art technique - to decorate our Forest School area. The children had a wonderful time using hammers to transfer the natural pigments from flowers and leaves onto fabric to create stunning designs. 🌸🔨To round off the session, they enjoyed some mindful observational flower drawing to help them relax and reflect.

What a day to be at Forest School - year 1/2 you have been amazing!

Today we have completed activities such as making our own Hapa Zome (Japanese art technique) bunting for our Forest School area. The children enjoyed using material, hammers and flowers/ leaves to create his beautiful bunting.

The children also enjoyed some observational drawing of flowers - a mindful activity to relax us.
