Did you see the BIG news a full 24 hours ago?

Yesterday (6pm UK time) it went live: CANVA CREATE (live from LA)

They launched the 2026 edition stating they were excited to share tools to help save us countless hours and transform the way we work. Some of our Canvassador group were there in person to hear all the good news.

As I’m off to IATEFL Brighton this week - the most exciting thing for me is working with Canva OFFLINE! Great news as I travel south of the border. Keeping the creativity flowing without needing the internet in just one click!

I’m writing this while also packing and preparing to head south…. Why?

Because it’s only 2 more sleeps until !!

I'm finishing up my own slides after IATEFL asked me to deliver a ‘How to’ session.

Within a busy programme my session is Thur morning at 0830 in Meeting Room 1C.

Typical questions from teachers that I’m planning my IATEFL session (Thu 0830) will answer:

1. “Where do I even start?”
Canva can feel like walking into a whole new world of possibilities.
“Do I start with a blank page or a template?”
“How do I know what size to use?”
You’re feeling overwhelmed + afraid of doing it “wrong.”

2. “How do I make it look good (without being a designer)?”
Teachers care deeply about quality but don’t want to spend hours tweaking fonts.
“How many colours should I use?”
“How do I make worksheets look more professional?”
You think good design = talent, not a system.

3. “Will this actually save me time?”
Time-poor teachers may feel if Canva feels like “extra work,” they’ll drop it.
“Is Canva quicker than Word/PowerPoint?”
“How long does it take to learn?”
“Can I reuse things easily?”
You’re protecting your already stretched time + energy.

4. “Can I actually use this with students?”
Next stage after tech is to think about learners using Canva.
