Starting Pointe Ballet

💜Today we said goodbye to Emily B as she heads off to West College after summer to pursue her dance dreams! Good luck Emily, we can't wait to see what you do next! 🌟

🩵For our final day of term we had a giggle playing with balance and turns, filled ourselves with sugar, and also said a fond farewell to Dunnswood Studios which has been our Vocational class home for 14 years since it opened under the Bernadette Sloan School of Dance, and Miss Sarah began Dunnswood Vocational Ballet, later Starting Pointe Ballet.

🤍This coming year our weekly programme takes a break, but our monthly programme will be back in August, jam packed with dance science, workshops, free syllabus ballet and pointe, Rambert Grades Contemporary, and creative afternoons. We can't wait to see what the Young Artists get up to this year! Will you be one of them? Registration opens soon!!!!

💜 Congratulations to Young Artists Emily and Amelie who sat their Advanced Foundation/Intermediate Foundation exams yesterday and to former Young Artist Sophie from the Valerie Brown School of Dance who sat her Intermediate!

🩵The dancers were welcomed so warmly by new and old friends at Monument Dance Centre who kindly allowed us all to join their session. All the dancers enjoyed extra practice sessions between schools to get ready for the big day!

🤍The dance world is always better when we share it with friends, both as dancers and teachers too! As always, a huge thank you to our Pianist, Roger. We appreciate all your support!

Busy weekend continues! Ms Sarah has the impossible task of judging the choreography competition this evening!

What an impressive level of talent shown by all the pupils! Dynamics, extensions, timing, expression! Congratulations to all the participants and winners!

A huge well done to Young Artist Isla who also performed with her competition team friends! Their dance placed 4th at That's Showbiz in Blackpool! Well done girls!
