💜 Congratulations to Young Artists Emily and Amelie who sat their Advanced Foundation/Intermediate Foundation exams yesterday and to former Young Artist Sophie from the Valerie Brown School of Dance who sat her Intermediate!

🩵The dancers were welcomed so warmly by new and old friends at Monument Dance Centre who kindly allowed us all to join their session. All the dancers enjoyed extra practice sessions between schools to get ready for the big day!

🤍The dance world is always better when we share it with friends, both as dancers and teachers too! As always, a huge thank you to our Pianist, Roger. We appreciate all your support!

💜We cannot wait to be back on this stage again tomorrow! Come see us perform at Go Dance 2026 in Glasgow's Theatre Royal!

🩵This year we present something incredibly special - a piece created from start to finish by the Young Artists themselves!

🤍Each dancer from age 10-22 has played a role in creating the choreography, staging, lighting, sound, and costume. They've been challenged as a group to communicate their ideas and combine them into what our audience will see tomorrow night as we present "The Elemental Flow"

💜 W=Wellbeing 🩵
Our resident physio, Jayne, visited our monthly Young Artists last week to respond to dancer questions around hip flexors, answering concerns around gripping, and what is the correct amount of activity to feel in and around the hip.

Some of our dancers currently navigating growth spurts found this practical session invaluable for removing the anxiety this life stage can bring.

Our ability to respond to technique concerns quickly and effectively by asking what we call 'the Jayne questions" allows dancers to tackle more difficult technique with confidence - just one of the ways we ensure dancer wellbeing across the Young Artist Development Programme!
