Demi, a young person we support, has taken on a voluntary role at a local gift shop AKA Designs.

Not only does Demi serve customers when they come into the store, but she also personalises products, prices items and puts them out on the shop floor. She also keeps the place s**c and span.

Demi loves getting ready for work and heading off for her shift.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful job with us Demi to mark Scottish Learning Disability Week!

Recently two mums whom we support on their recovery journeys, along with our Intensive Perinatal team, attended a meeting with the Scottish Recovery Consortium.

Together we helped our mums share their experiences, as well as the problems and issues they have faced on their recovery journeys. We created a brick wall of all these concerns to discuss with attendees from social work, housing, third sector organisations and other women in recovery so we could all help find solutions together.

We will continue to use these opportunities to help amplify the voices of the mums we support to ensure all women in recovery in Scotland receive the help and support they need to keep their families together.

It’s Scottish Learning Disability Week and throughout the week we’ll be celebrating the achievements of some of the young people we support.

Michael and Rebecca, young people who live with us in Fife, take part in frame running every week. Recently they got involved in the annual frame running competition, it was Michael’s first time, and they both won medals!

Family, friends and staff joined them on the day with personalised banners to cheer them on and celebrate their achievements.

Congratulations Michael and Rebecca!

“Women are reporting far more digital abuse to our teams, and we can see it is evolving quickly as technology advances.

“The first thing we do is ensure women and children escaping abusive relationships are physically safe, but that now also demands ensuring devices are not revealing their location or movements and passwords are changed and secured.

“Technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated and, in response, we must become increasingly aware of the risks of digital abuse and how to neutralise them.” - Justina Murray, Aberlour CEO

In yesterday's The Sunday Post our CEO, Justina Murray, discussed the rise of digital abuse and what our teams do to help survivors.

to stand together. It's Time to shout louder. It's Time to take action. It's Time to make Scotland the safe place it should be for all women and girls.

"The kids had the best day ever!"

Recently, families supported by our team in Dumfries and Galloway had a great time at our Family Celebration Day.

The day was filled with fun activities like paperchain making, decorating shields and drawing pictures.

The fun didn't stop when the families headed home. They got to take a new toy home from our ‘gift shop’.

Thank you to everyone who came!

Our families in Ayr recently enjoyed a fun filled day.

They got stuck into crafting activities and enjoyed canvas painting, jewellery making, a BBQ and lots more!

The day helped families build friendships and connections in the community!

More than 1 in 5 children in Scotland continue to live in poverty. This is shocking and shameful.

Today we hope the First Minister turns welcome words to eradicate child poverty in Scotland into clear and targeted actions, with significant investment and a coherent plan.

The most direct actions the First Minister can take are:

💙 An immediate increase to the Scottish Child Payment to at least £40 per week, rising to £55 by the end of the next parliament.

💚 Scotland’s social security system to provide all families with the foundation to thrive and flourish, through increasing advice, strengthening support where needed, and removing barriers that leave some families behind.
