The CECA Scotland Academy creates a route from college into employment

27/03/2026

It was great for Juliet Mallace and Sandy MacGillivray to meet up again with Evan Riddell at the CECA Scotland Dinner in Glasgow .

Evan who is a previous graduate from the CECA Academy course at Fife college was at the event with his work colleagues from Morrison Construction, who recruited him after he completed the popular 18 week full time course.

For those interested in a career in civil engineering Evan updated us on his progress to date and the support given by colleagues as he undertakes further training and site work as he works towards further qualifications.

Big thanks to Drew Mackie and all the team at Morrison Construction for their support of the academy

Congratulations to Our CECA Academy West College Students!!

We proudly announce that 11 students graduated yesterday from West College Scotland, followed by a successful jobs fair.

This marks the second jobs fair at West College, and the feedback from course participants has been truly exhilarating. All CECA Academy students demonstrated enthusiasm for employment and conducted thorough research on the attending employers.

We extend our thanks to the staff at West College, particularly Jamie Kerr BSc (Hons) for their dedication in working closely with the students. We also recognise the CECA Scotland members who have actively supported these young individuals, whether by offering employment opportunities or providing valuable learning resources and materials for the West College site.

We are absolutely delighted with the achievements made in this course; saying we are thrilled would be an understatement.
