Our Year 7s are settling well into life at SGS and have recently chosen their form reps. Among them are Isla and Ottilie who were elected after giving fantastic speeches in front of their year group and tutors. Well done girls and to all our other form reps.

From the thrills of Thorpe Park to a cosy evening of pizza making there is rarely a dull moment for our boarders! Our students were also helped to feel settled and supported with a church welcome service and a visit from local church volunteers.

Well done to Maddie, Jensen, George, Gracie, Lily and Hazel who gave inspirational speeches to an audience of students at Brighton University last week.
The group spoke to the trainee teachers about their personal journeys at SGS and the impact their teachers had had on them.
Headteacher Mr Timmons and Head of Year 11 Mrs Hutchings said they were deeply moved by their words and proud of the obstacles they had overcome.

Thank you!

Mission Week 2026 is underway at SGS: staff and students have been using quiet prayer spaces to read, do crafts, pause and relax and, if they want to, explore prayer.
There have been volunteers greeting our SGS community in the mornings and offer them toast and chance to chat.
Members of the Mission Week team have also joined RE lessons to answer questions about Christianity and the Christian faith.
Thank you to our chaplaincy team and volunteers from local churches for making Mission Week possible.
