What a great Day 1 at the Hertfordshire Primary Headteachers’ Conference 2026 hosted by HFL Education!

We're back for Day 2 after an incredible start connecting with primary school leaders from across Hertfordshire. It’s been a brilliant opportunity to showcase how school-based apprenticeships provide a fully funded route to professional development.

Many Headteachers, especially those new to their roles, were keen to discover how using their apprenticeship levy can upskill staff across key areas, such as:

Such an inspiring story breaking down the stigma surrounding adult literacy! Stephie’s journey is a powerful reminder that it is never too late to learn or to seek support.

According to ONS data, around 2.4 million adults across England alone either cannot read or struggle significantly with reading.

This Dyslexia Awareness Week we’re sharing Stephie Bradshaw’s story.

Stephie has dyslexia and only learned to read fluently when she was 33, supported by charity Read Easy UK.

Now she shares her story to help other adults who struggle to read feel less alone.

Let’s remove the stigma around seeking support to read as an adult.

A huge congratulations to all our apprentices who have successfully passed their Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship with NPQSL!

Balancing full-time leadership roles in education with a Level 7 Senior Leader apprenticeship and the NPQSL is no small feat.
