Memberships across 65 disciplines and career stages (chartered, incorporated and technicians) from students and apprentices to directors / CEOs. A ‘can-do’ group of individuals who wish to promote the profession and contribute to its development. Our community extends far and wide, regional, national, global and in education, training, professional engineering institutions, organisations and industry.

Engineering discoveries are even more powerful when they're shared.

Cristina Cortes Salas understands that innovation and community go hand in hand.

Through her research at the University of Nottingham, Cristina is helping develop advanced optical technologies that could improve the early detection of pancreatic cancer. Alongside her research, she founded the Nottingham Optics and Photonics Society, creating opportunities for students to develop practical skills, build confidence and discover a passion for engineering.

The buildings we use every day rely on engineering that most of us never see. Natalie Collcutt is making sure that engineering works smarter.

As Associate Director at Watkins Payne, Natalie leads building services projects that improve energy performance and support the journey towards net zero. By combining technical expertise with practical, data-led thinking, she's helping create buildings that are more sustainable, more efficient and better for the people who use them.

Away from her project work, Natalie is equally committed to supporting the profession through mentoring, STEM outreach and her leadership with SheCanEngineer.

Her story is a reminder that engineering is about creating places where people and communities can thrive.
