Hello September! 🍂❤️

Welcome back! We hope everyone has had a lovely summer, and we’re really looking forward to starting the autumn term together 🥰

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be hearing about what the children have been doing over the summer, helping everyone settle back into nursery and welcoming our new children and families. Your child’s key person will also be giving you a call for a catch-up.

You’ll find a noticeboard outside each room with useful information and updates. We also send a monthly newsletter and any important information by email, so please keep an eye out!

Your child’s key person or any member of the team is always available if you would like to speak to us- just let us know.

We’re so excited for another term of following the children’s interests, supporting their ideas and seeing where their play takes us 🥰🍂

Today, our three sister nurseries came together for our INSET day and Early Years Autism Training ❤️

It was a fantastic opportunity to develop our knowledge and understanding of autism, share ideas and explore neurodiversity-affirming approaches 🥰

We discussed how we can recognise and celebrate each child’s individual strengths, understand their unique ways of communicating and experiencing the world, and ensure they feel safe, valued and fully supported within our nurseries ✨

An amazing and inspiring start to the autumn term! We can’t wait to welcome our families back tomorrow ☺️

With the summer holidays just around the corner, we wanted to share some ideas for fun, affordable activities to enjoy together 🥰

Hertfordshire County Council has put together a fantastic 'Fifty Thrifty Adventures' guide, full of low-cost and free activities taking place across Hertfordshire.

From parks and splash parks to museums, libraries, family events and nature trails, there are lots of ideas to help keep children entertained over the summer 🌳

As some of our children get ready to start school this September, we wanted to share a helpful School Readiness guide with you ❤

This document has been created by Herts for Learning and is also being used by many of our local primary schools.

It provides useful information about the skills and experiences that can help children feel confident as they begin their school journey.

Please remember that every child develops at their own pace. School readiness isn't about children being able to do everything perfectly before they start school.

It is about supporting them to become confident, independent and ready to embrace new experiences in their own way 🥰

We hope you find the guide helpful ✨

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Father’s Day & Special Person Stay and Play this afternoon ❤️

This is always one of our favourite events of the year. It provides children with an opportunity to share their nursery environment with the important people in their lives, helping to strengthen connections between home and nursery ✨

It was lovely to see so many special people joining in with activities, spending time together, and experiencing a little part of the children’s day with us 🥰

We wanted to share this helpful resource from the Speech and Language Therapy Team.

At nursery, we use the FOLLOW approach to support children’s communication and language development through everyday interactions, play and following children’s interests.

This short webinar explains the approach and shares practical ideas to help support communication in young children ❤️

New Additions to Our Garden! 🌿✨

We’ve recently added a climbing dome and slide to our outdoor environment.

It’s important that children have a range of opportunities to explore physically, with different ways to climb, balance, move and challenge themselves. These experiences help to develop strength, coordination, confidence and resilience, all whilst having fun outdoors ❤️

What a fantastic day we had on our annual farm trip! 🚜🐄🌿

We are so grateful to all of our wonderful parents, carers, children and staff who joined us today ❤️

Your support, enthusiasm and company made the trips so special, and we truly appreciate everyone who came along.

The children had an amazing time exploring, learning and making memories together (and we were so lucky with the weather ☀️🕶️).

Thank you again for being part of such a lovely experience for our Benington family 💚🐑 We hope everyone has a lovely half term!
