EYFS Corner

Nursery had some visitors on Friday before half term! Year 2 went to Nursery to share their superhero stories that they had written just for them. Their stories were based on the book 'Superhero Joe does NOT do cuddles'. They were very excited to share their stories and had carefully kept their readers in mind when writing. Many had even included Nursery children in their stories. Nursery were very pleased to welcome Year 2 and loved listening to their tales.

Reading Corner - Year 4 recommend...

Poplar Class have recently finished reading Anisha, Accidental Detective by Serena Patel as their class read, and they absolutely loved it. They were keen to recommend it to other children and share some of their thoughts about the book:

Aleena: โ€œIt was a fun and engaging read.โ€

Genevieve: โ€œYou want to find out who kidnapped Uncle Tony and you are trying to work it out as you read.โ€

Djibril: โ€œI liked it because you were given lots of clues and had to work it out along the way.โ€

Evelyn: โ€œItโ€™s nice to have a mystery to think about overnight.โ€

Poppy: โ€œI liked the book because it showed different personalities and there was a mystery to solve.โ€

Bobby: โ€œEvery time the characters went to a different place, you were hoping you would find out more.โ€

Mental-Health-Mind Workshop

This week, Year 6 took part in a โ€˜Mental-Health- Mindโ€™ workshop. The children created a superhero based on what powers they would wish to possess. They also looked at body image and self-esteem, reflecting on what aspects they love about themselves
and what they are grateful for. The children commented on how they enjoyed the superhero activity as well as having the opportunity to share with their peers what they love about themselves. The workshop was provided by Herts Mind Network.
