Hertfordshire Tuition Made Fun

Hertfordshire Tuition Made Fun QTS teacher with 12+ yrs experience, from early readers to GCSE/11+. ADHD & Dyslexic (and proud!), I get it. Hey! Thanks for checking out my page.

I specialise in supporting neurodivergent learners through a child-led, therapeutic approach that builds confidence & makes learning fun. I'm Sarah, a qualified teacher with over 11 years experience. I'm also Mum to two SEN children and neurodiverse myself. Throughout my life and parenting journey, I've seen first hand how traditional education closes the door on neurodiverse children. Its happene

d to me, and my children. A lack of support for parents, lack of mental health provision and an inability to access education is a vicious cycle with rarely a way out. This experience has shown me that as a qualified professional, I can help families more fluidly, than perhaps I can in the confines of a classroom. Hertfordshire Tuition Made Fun offers Neurodiverse & Neurotypical children access to education that works for the whole family. In my home environment or via zoom, I offer movement breaks, sensory input and a whole load of confidence building and fun. This is the starting point before we even think about grades. Suitable for those who are needing significant support as well as, those who are educationally advanced. Tuition and support is tailored to the individual and their need. Parents of students have reported increased confidence, more willingness to learning and then accessing traditional education and possibly most importantly, help from someone who 'Gets it',

Making mistakes is a natural part of learning.

When children feel safe to get things wrong, ask questions and try again, they build resilience, confidence and problem-solving skills that last far beyond the classroom. effectively from their errors.

At Hertfordshire Tuition Made Fun, we celebrate effort, encourage curiosity and remind every child that mistakes aren't failures, they're part of the journey. 💛

Reading together doesn't have to feel like homework.

Whether it's a bedtime story, a comic, a magazine or a favourite chapter, spending just 10 minutes reading together each day can help build vocabulary, improve confidence and nurture a lifelong love of books.

Shared reading also gives children valuable one-to-one time, helping them feel supported as they learn.

It can be easy for children to compare themselves to classmates, but confidence grows when we focus on personal progress rather than perfection.

Every child has different strengths, challenges and ways of learning, so their journey will never look exactly like someone else's.

Encouraging effort, celebrating small wins and recognising individual progress can help build lasting confidence and motivation.

KS2 parents using games to sneak in learning. 🎮

For KS2 maths, TT Rockstars keeps times tables ticking over (ttrockstars.com) and Mathsframe covers everything from fractions to place value (mathsframe.co.uk). For English, Spelling Frame has spelling games matched to the National Curriculum lists (spellingframe.co.uk), Literacy Shed has brilliant short films with writing prompts attached, the same ones used in classrooms up and down the country (www.literacyshed.com), and BBC Bitesize KS2 covers both subjects in short structured chunks (www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize).

Little and often beats one long Sunday scramble every time. 🌟 🌟 🌟

Times Tables Rock Stars is an award-winning maths learning platform where children can practise their times tables like a rock star! We take the worry out of learning times tables and has a proven track record of boosting children’s fluency and recall in multiplication and division.

⏰ Little routines can make a big difference.

As the new school year approaches, simple routines can help children feel calmer, more organised and ready for the day ahead.

Whether it's packing school bags the night before, reading for 10 minutes after school or having a regular homework time, small habits can reduce stress and build confidence.

Research shows that consistent routines are linked with positive outcomes for children's learning, wellbeing and emotional development.
