Another end of an era in my tutoring career 😢

I started teaching this little boy Spanish when he was 5 years old. More recently we started working on his French to support school work. Now 11 years old, he has so many after-school commitments that our lessons have stopped.

I’m so glad to have given him a good grounding and a love of languages, as his mum says here 💞

Belated but massive congratulations to James Williams for achieving top grade 9 in his Spanish iGCSE.
In my 24years tutoring, I’ve supported about 30 kids through their GCSEs but James is only the 2nd pupil I’ve taught as their sole teacher and course leader.
James came to me as a year 7 because he’d studied Spanish at primary school and enjoyed it but his chosen secondary school didn’t offer this language. Due to COVID and my maternity leave, his course was slightly drawn out and he’s now starting Yr13 at VIth Form.
His result is a testament to his diligence and self-motivation and it was an absolute pleasure working with him.

Card from the first pupil that I put through a GCSE as their sole teacher, back in 2014. He achieved an A and also took another language at school, in which he achieved a B - a strong, budding linguist 🇪🇸🇫🇷
