🌿 Garden Transformation Continued 🌿

As promised, here is a look at our amazing main garden mud kitchen and growing area – and what an incredible transformation it has been! 🌼🌱

The true stars of this project have been our wonderful children. From the very beginning, they have approached every task with enthusiasm, determination, and endless energy. Whether digging, planting, watering, weeding, or caring for the flowers and vegetables, they have embraced every opportunity to help create a beautiful outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.

It has been fantastic to watch them work together as a team, encouraging one another, sharing responsibilities, solving problems, and taking real pride in seeing their hard work blossom. Along the way, they have developed new skills, grown in confidence, and gained a greater understanding of the importance of caring for our environment and supporting local wildlife.

This transformation has only been possible because of the incredible teamwork shown across our whole school community. Our dedicated staff – including our fantastic lunchtime staff, who have been fully involved throughout the project – have worked alongside the children every step of the way, helping to nurture the garden and inspire a love of the outdoors.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project with their generosity, time, and donations. Your kindness has helped us create an inspiring outdoor space that our children will enjoy for years to come.

We’re delighted to announce that Oxhill Nursery School is now officially registered with Ofsted to welcome babies from 9 months old with a valid eligibility code.

✨ We have just ONE space remaining for September – don’t miss out!

At Oxhill Nursery School, we believe that giving children a wide range of real-life, hands-on experiences is an important part of their learning and development.

🏖️ Our final trip of the year was a wonderful family beach visit for our Acorns Class last Wednesday. It was a day full of smiles, laughter and special moments as children and their families enjoyed spending quality time together by the seaside.

🛝 We finished the day by enjoying time at the play park before heading home.

💛 A huge thank you to all of our staff and families for joining us and helping make the day so memorable. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, and we can't wait to see what adventures next year will bring!

Over the past few weeks, we've been incredibly busy transforming our outdoor spaces, and what a difference it has made!🌿

We are so grateful to our wonderful community for supporting this project by generously giving their time, donating plants, materials, and helping us bring our vision to life. Your kindness and generosity are helping us create a school environment that is not only beautiful to look at but also supports local wildlife, encourages biodiversity, and provides inspiring outdoor spaces for our children to enjoy and learn in.

This has truly been a team effort. Our amazing children and dedicated staff have worked tirelessly alongside our volunteers, showing fantastic teamwork, pride, and care for our school.

🌼🌼🌼We can’t wait to share our beautiful outdoor spaces with Stanley Town Councils Blooming Good Fun Project judges this week. We think they will be impressed with the
incredible community spirit, teamwork, and engagement that have helped transform our gardens.

At Oxhill Nursery School, we believe that giving children a wide range of real-life, hands-on experiences is an important part of their learning and development.

Yesterday, our Blossom and Willow Classes enjoyed a fantastic visit to Hall Hill Farm! The children loved meeting and feeding a variety of friendly farm animals, holding some of the smaller animals, and seeing and hearing so many different animals up close. They also had lots of fun exploring the adventure play area, making the day full of excitement, discovery and smiles.

We were incredibly proud of the children throughout the visit. They listened carefully, followed instructions beautifully, showed kindness and respect towards the animals, and represented Oxhill Nursery School wonderfully. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour made it a truly memorable day for everyone.

Experiences like these help our younger learners build confidence, develop their communication and language skills, learn about the world around them, strengthen their social skills, and encourage curiosity through first-hand experiences. These special opportunities create lasting memories while supporting children's learning in meaningful and engaging ways.

Last week, our children were thrilled to meet Police Dog Ben and his handler. They learnt all about the important role of the police and how specially trained dogs help to keep our communities safe.

Experiences like these help our children develop their understanding of the world around them, encourage curiosity, build communication and language skills, and teach them about the people who make a difference in our local community.
