Sorry for the delay but here are the photos from celebration assembly held last week. We had some sporting awards alongside the children showing high levels of resilience. There were also some great awards for children putting lots of effort into their work and behaviour. Best attendance for the week was won jointly by Year 6 and Year 1. Most improved attendance went to Year 6. Highest number of team points went to Tees. Amazing effort everyone.

Our lovely Year 4 children had a brilliant time at the cross-country competition this morning.

It was wonderful to see how supportive they were, cheering each other on, showing fantastic sportsmanship and supporting their teammates every step of the way.

Every single child was a credit to our school and truly made us proud to be part of East Stanley School.

Well done, Year 4! You are all superstars!

🌟 WE CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU! 🌟

Our little East Stanley stars have a very important message for you… ❤️💙

“We can’t wait to meet you!” 🥰

We’re getting closer to our Open Evening and we’re so excited to welcome families through our doors!

📅 Thursday 15th October
⏰ 3.30pm – 5pm

This Open Evening is a wonderful opportunity for families who are considering East Stanley School for their child’s Nursery or Reception place, as well as families with older children who may be considering a move to our school, to come along, look around our brand new EYFS spaces, meet our fantastic team and get a feel for everything our school has to offer. 🏫✨

If you’re already part of our East Stanley family and have a little one due to start Nursery or Reception, we’d love for you to bring them along and see where their next exciting chapter could begin! 🌈📚 And, of course, older brothers and sisters are very welcome too — they can help show our little ones around and share what makes East Stanley so special. ❤️

There’ll also be lots of fun activities for children, including:

🍪 Biscuit decorating
🎨 Face painting
🏰 Bouncy castle
🍂 Autumn crafts

🎁 Please register your attendance to guarantee your child’s gift bag by emailing [email protected] or calling 01207 233611.

📍 East Stanley School, Chester Road, Stanley, DH9 0TN

We really can’t wait to meet you! ❤️

⚽ WHAT A START TO THE SEASON! ⚽

Two fantastic performances from our boys’ football team in their opening fixtures! Plenty of grit, determination and skill on show — we couldn’t be prouder of the lads! 👏

A huge thank you to our families for their brilliant support. We’re already looking forward to getting back on the training pitch and preparing for the next fixtures!

The season is only just beginning… 💪⚽

🦈🤟 BABY SHARK… BUT MAKE IT BSL! 🤟🦈

Our Year 5 children have been continuing their fantastic work with Sunderland AFC’s Foundation of Light as part of the Sir Bob Murray Award — and this week, things got a little bit… SHARKY! 😂🦈

In just one session, the children managed to learn family members and colours in British Sign Language (BSL) before putting their new vocabulary into action! 🔤🤟

And what better way to practise their skills than by learning the actions to Baby Shark?! 🎶🦈

The children worked brilliantly together, learning the signs, remembering the actions and, most importantly, having lots of fun while developing a valuable new skill. 👏💙

We think they absolutely smashed it! 🌟

A huge well done to our amazing Year 5s — we’re already looking forward to seeing what they learn next! 👏

And yes… we’re fully expecting Baby Shark to be stuck in everyone’s heads for the rest of the day! 😂🦈
