We had our final assembly this morning. We celebrated children achieving silver and bronze awards. Some amazing readers who have read beyond expectations. There were special certificates for our year 6 sports leaders who have done a great job at helping the younger children. We also celebrated lots of good attendance. A special well done to children who have managed 100% attendance and a shout out to one year 6 who has managed to achieve 100% attendance for each year he has been in primary school. We think you are all amazing.
Today we said goodbye to a truly special Year 6 class.
From your first days at East Stanley School to your final walk through our gates, we’ve had the privilege of watching you grow into kind, resilient and inspiring young people. You have filled our school with laughter, friendship and memories we’ll treasure forever.
As you begin your next adventure, know that you’ll always have a place in our hearts and will forever be part of the East Stanley family.
Thank you for the memories, the smiles and for making us so incredibly proud.
Good luck, Year 6. Go and shine—we know you’ll achieve amazing things. ❤️💙✨

As another fantastic school year comes to an end, we simply wanted to say thank you.
Thank you to all of our children for making East Stanley School such a special place to learn and grow each day. We are incredibly proud of every single one of you and everything you have achieved this year.
To our parents, carers and families, thank you for your continued support, encouragement and partnership throughout the year. Working together truly makes a difference, and we are so grateful to have such a supportive school community.
We have also been overwhelmed by the kind cards, messages and gifts that many families have given to staff over the last few days. While these are never expected, they are always received with genuine gratitude and humility. Your thoughtfulness means so much and is greatly appreciated by everyone.
We hope you all have a wonderful, safe and relaxing summer holiday. Take time to make special memories with your families, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, ready for another exciting year together.
From all of us at East Stanley School – thank you, and have a fantastic summer! ❤️

As we come to the end of another school year, we’re also saying goodbye to four very special members of the East Stanley School family.
❤️ Mrs Pendleton retires after an incredible 24 years of dedicated service. Since joining us in 2002, she has supported and inspired generations of children with her kindness, patience and unwavering care.
❤️ Miss Walker is also retiring after 11 wonderful years at East Stanley School. As a much-loved teacher, particularly in Year 6, she has helped so many children grow in confidence and prepare for their next steps.
❤️ Miss Graham is leaving after 13 years as a Teaching Assistant to begin an exciting new chapter in a new role. We thank her for the care, encouragement and positivity she has brought to our school every day.
❤️ Miss Huntrod has been a valued member of our team, providing cover as Office Manager over the last couple of years. We wish her every success in her new teaching role.
To each of you, thank you for the difference you’ve made to our children, families and staff. Your dedication, compassion and commitment have helped shape our school community, and you will always be part of the East Stanley School family.
From everyone at East Stanley School, we wish you all the very best for the future. Thank you for everything. ❤️

⭐ Celebrating Our SLP Star Award Winners! ⭐
What a wonderful evening we had at the SLP Star Awards at Beamish Hall!
We were incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our amazing pupils alongside families, staff and schools from across the Trust. It was a fantastic opportunity to recognise children who consistently demonstrate kindness, determination, resilience and a positive attitude to learning.
We are so fortunate to work with such inspiring young people every day. They make us proud through their achievements, their character and the way they support those around them. Seeing them celebrated on such a special evening was a real privilege.
A huge congratulations to all of our award winners – you truly are stars! ⭐ Thank you to SLP for organising such a memorable event, and to everyone who helped make the evening so special.

🍦What a fantastic way to end the year! 🍦
Today, we celebrated our pupils’ exceptional behaviour with our final reward morning of the academic year.
As a special treat, the boys and girls (and the staff too 😊) enjoyed a well-deserved visit from the ice cream van.
We are incredibly proud of the kindness, respect and positive attitudes our children have shown throughout the year. They have worked hard, made great choices and truly earned this celebration.
Well done everyone 🍦☀️
There was plenty of smiling, singing and dancing in the sunshine this morning as our children enjoyed a fantastic performance from the brass band Mr Wilson's Second Liners!☀️🎺 this event was organised in partnership with Durham Brass Festival.
Dressed in red and white ahead of England’s World Cup semi-final, the children couldn’t resist getting up to dance, with the music filling the school field with energy, laughter and smiles. It was wonderful to see everyone having so much fun together.
We think the video says it all… turn the volume up and enjoy! ❤️🤍🎶

🎨✨ This afternoon, our fantastic Year 5 class took a walk to North Durham Academy to take part in a brilliant Art lesson! 🚶♂️🚶♀️
The children discovered all about Aboriginal art, learning about its unique styles, patterns and meanings before putting their creativity to the test by creating their own stunning pieces using Posca pens. 🖍️🌏
We were so impressed by the children’s creativity, concentration and artistic flair. They produced some truly wonderful designs, and we’re sure you’ll agree—they look absolutely amazing! 🤩👏
A huge thank you to the staff at North Durham Academy for hosting such an enjoyable and inspiring session. 💙🎨
