Summer 2026: Tanfield students and leavers went to Peru with Camps International. They immersed themselves in the rich and vibrant culture of the Sacred Valley, playing an important role in projects that provide sustainable long-term support to communities in rural areas. They were also lucky enough to trek to Machu Picchu! Well done Team Peru.

💜World Mental Health Day 2026 💜

World Mental Health Day takes place every year on 10 October. It reminds us why good mental health is so important, and how we can prioritise it in our lives and communities. It’s also a moment to talk openly and listen to what others are experiencing.
This year’s theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”. Conversations about mental health make a difference. And they matter most when we listen to people’s experiences.

A huge thank you to The Tanfield Association for coordinating the fantastic ‘Tanfield Through Time’ exhibition with our Year 7 students! 📚

Students explored the exhibition, learning more about our school’s rich history while putting their knowledge to the test with an engaging quiz along the way. A brilliant opportunity to connect with our past and bring history to life!

It was a fantastic opportunity for Cody to gain first-hand experience of aviation and develop his knowledge and skills beyond the classroom. Well done, Cody! 👏
