Opened in 1998 by Claire Kenyon, the Children's Garden brings together the creativity of Montessori and the wonder of learning through nature and the world around us. After travelling to Bali for her children to attend The Green School in 2011 with her family, Claire was joined by her husband, Ed who is a Bushcraft Leader and Green School educator. Along with experienced Manager Jo, Ed and Claire have a progressive approach to learning in the early years, offering Yoga, Mindfulness & Forest School.

Darkness & Light Discovery Part 2

Torches became tools for discovery, shadows became something to chase, change and create. Light became an experiment. 🔦
Through open-ended exploration, children are developing theories, testing ideas and discovering that they can influence the world around them.

🌿 Process over product.

As summer begins to fade, we’ve been gathering the last of our garden blooms and giving them a new life through Hapa Zome - the Japanese art of bundling and gently hammering flowers and leaves to release their natural pigments onto fabric.

For us, it’s not about creating a perfect finished piece. It’s about the doing: choosing, arranging, listening to the sound of the hammer, feeling the textures, noticing the colours emerge and discovering what happens when we experiment.

Our garden becomes both the inspiration and the material, with children learning that beauty can be found in the process, in the unexpected and in the marks we leave behind. 🌸🍃

Every great story begins with a single page... 📖✨

As our school leavers prepare to move onto their next chapter, we asked each child to name their favourite story. These books have sparked imaginations, inspired adventures and created countless treasured moments throughout their early years.

Our leavers’ celebration theme, “Come as Your Favourite Person, even if that’s you!”, reminds us that the greatest story they’ll ever write is their own. Their next chapter is still unwritten, and we can’t wait to see where it takes them.

Here’s to celebrating every child exactly as they are, and to the exciting new pages waiting to be filled. 💚
