This week: The children have begun their learning on all about me. We have been using mirrors to identify our facial features and to support us to paint pictures of our faces. We have been drawing self portraits also. The children have also been able to make faces from playdough using the face mats to guide us. We have been focussing on learning how to wash our hands and taking part in teeth brushing activities. We have enjoyed chopping up vegetables in the home corner. Outside the children have been exploring the mud kitchen area and playing on the bikes.

Our extra-curricular afternoon activities this week;
Monday – Health and well- being- learning about nature
Tuesday – Outdoor adventure- All about me- making clay faces
Wednesday – Space- Learning about the Moon and making them using black paper and tin foil.
Thursday – PE- Football skills
Friday – Science- Making rainbow slime

Group time: In group time this week, the children have been learning hand washing skills. We have practised washing our hands, singing our hand washing song and doing some hand washing experiments.

It’s been lovely to welcome the children back to Pre-School this week and welcome our new children starting their learning journey with us. We are happy to report they are all settling in well and are enjoying exploring the pre-school and getting to know one another. We have enjoyed playing outside- in the sand, water play, climbing, balancing, performing shows on the stage and playing on the bikes. The children have enjoyed painting pictures on foil, drawing, completing puzzles, threading, exploring the dinosaurs hidden in the foam and playing with the magnetic shapes. Don’t forget to send a family photo in to support our learning of all about me starting next week.

Group time: We have been talking in small groups about the summer holidays and things we like and don’t like. The children have been learning our routine songs and rules in Pre-School.

Have a great weekend!

We hope you've all had a lovely Summer and look forward to welcoming old and new families back to Pre-School next week.

Over the last year, our staff and committee have worked hard on fundraising events and with the money raised, we have been able to purchase new outdoor equipment and new resources indoors. We are really happy with the new equipment and can't wait to see the children enjoying play and exploring new learning opportunities.

Reminders:
Wednesday 2nd September- Pre-School is closed. Staff on home visits and we have our stay and play for new and current children 2pm-3pm.

Thursday 3rd September- Pre-School open as normal.

Don't forget to email us a family photo and a photo of your house to support our all about me learning.

See you soon 😊

Today we had our end of term party with Jason Fenn ‘Magic Man’. The children had the best time again and are always so surprised with all the magic tricks.

We also had our graduation for our school leavers. Well done, you were fantastic.

Your children are honestly such a credit to you. They have been such a wonderful group and each and everyone of them are all special in their own way. We are all very proud of them and wish you all luck on your adventures at School.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to our wonderful staff team. These ladies are all so amazing, the skills and enthusiasm they bring everyday I am forever grateful for.

As you are aware we are committee run, so I'd like to thank all of our committee members for all your support and commitment to helping us fundraise. (Fundraiser photo's and totals to follow).

A massive thank you to all of you as parents and carers for choosing and putting trust in us to care for your children.

On a personal note, this has been a really difficult year for me and I'd like to thank everyone for all your support and kind words over the past few months, it really means so much. Coming to work has kept me going, its like a little family here and that's what makes Pre-School special.

We hope you have a lovely Summer and hope to see you all soon 😊
