Farewell, But Never Goodbye | A Tribute to Bob from Our CEO 🌟
The time has come to say farewell , but never goodbye to one of Sunflower's true originals.
Seventeen years ago, I employed a headmaster for our Prep school and watched him give countless children the very best start to their education (my own son included).
In 2020, when COVID closed the Prep school, we faced an uncertain future for Bob. But there was no way we were letting this talented member of our team go far.
So we put our heads together, and Bob retrained as a First Aid trainer and launched his own company 8Ash. Together with his deep safeguarding knowledge, he took on responsibility not only for training our own teams, but for supporting early educators right across the North West.
Of course, his real passion always lay with the children. So Bob also trained as a Forest School Teacher, and drawing on his PE background he delivered both Forest and PE classes to our children twice a week across both sites.
He played a huge part in launching Forest School at Sunflower, a legacy that continues to shape how our children learn and grow outdoors.
Both our teams and our children have been truly blessed to learn from Bob, and I have been delighted to call him not just a colleague, but a friend.
So although Bob remains a young man at heart, the time has come for him to hang up his hat and retire.
The good news? His company, 8ash, will continue delivering First Aid training across the North West , so fear not, Bob will still be making training entertaining, and we look forward to welcoming him back whenever training is needed.
So all that remains is to say a huge thank you, Bob, from all of us at Sunflower and from the tens of thousands of children whose lives you've touched throughout your career.
With gratitude from myself and all of our team.
