One of our Year 5 pupils and Mrs Hughes received the red carpet treatment at the launch of the intergenerational video ‘This is what an Activist looks like’. The video celebrates diversity and inclusivity across generations sharing their skills and knowledge. Gorse Hall School's ‘Stitch in Time’ fashion club has been featured showcasing how fabrics and textiles can be upcycled, repurposed, and transformed into something creative and wearable.🌎💚♻️

We appreciate your support very much. Donations through Parent Pay please 💜
Our traditional Easter Egg Craft Competition takes place on Friday 8th April. Be as creative as ever and wow us with your designs! Entries need to be brought to the hall that morning. A winner will be chosen per class. All those who enter will receive a small prize. 🐣 💛🐣
RRB had a wonderful time at the Park yesterday. The weather was glorious and the children were just amazing. We were all so proud of them. They have been looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy and the children have been creating their own artwork 🌈🐝
Mrs Wright has been wowed by her writers this wee- their imaginative ideas and how hard they tried to put everything in from the success criteria! They watched the short film Alma and the children have retold this in their own words. ✍🏻👏🏻
This week in RLP we have been looking at flowers and talking about the different parts of a plant. The children learnt all about the roots, stem, leaf and petals and the important jobs they have. They have labelled pictures of plants; painted their own beautiful watercolour flower pictures; and made grass heads using soil, seeds and decorated pots with funny faces. The children have also been super excited about the tadpoles breaking free and swimming around the tank. They are very fast and cheeky! 💚💜❤️💛💙
Our Nursery children released their first butterfly in the front garden. The children have been enjoying the Hungry Caterpillar story and have watched the changes from a caterpillar through to today when they said goodbye. 🐛 🦋🐛🦋

1JW have been fantastic scientists this week, identifying different types of leaves. We used a dial with a variety of leaves and we had to look very closely at the leaves to identify them. 🌈🐝

Photos from Gorse Hall Primary School, Stalybridge's post 01/12/2022

Here is a selection of the poetry work in 1JW this week. The children first thought of adjectives to describe a worm and then created their own poems using their adjectives. They had lots of fun thinking of the adjectives and then using loud, clear voices to read their poems out. Most children used lots of expression and their friends were very impressed and so was Miss Welsh! 🌈🐝
