As you may have seen in the news over the weekend, the arrangements for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II have been confirmed to take place on Monday 19th September. King Charles III has also confirmed this date will be recognised as a bank holiday which means the college won’t be open on that day.
All existing students should have received an email from us to your college email address to advise of the closure. If you haven’t enrolled yet and your course was due to start on Monday 19th, please note the college won’t be open on this date.

South Staffordshire College is deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We extend our condolences to the Royal Family and others affected by this news. She will be greatly missed.
After a long summer break we are delighted to welcome our new and existing learners from week beginning Monday 12th. Hopefully you will have had a lovely summer🌞 and ready to enjoy your new course 😄

A lovely day out at Telford Park for yellow group 1. Nice enough to have a picnic and ice cream 🍦 🍕 🥪 🥤
A huge thankyou to Councilor Carolyn Trowbridge for putting on a Horticulture session for Blue Groups 1 last work experience session. We learned how to pot on a plant and we added to one of the flower beds by the band stand in Stafford's Victoria Park. Keep a look out everyone next time you are there.
Blue 2 completed their mental health support project today as part of their Social Action Lesson. They have made a basket of items to gift to other learners to support good mental health. The basket is on reception for any learners who were not in.
Parents and carers joined us and other volunteers in the park today for our end of year celebration. Learners received their college certificates and their gold awards for volunteering. This came with a Friends of Hednesford Park gold medal and certificate, a commemorative booklet to mark 100 years of the war memorial and a special medal to mark the queen's 70th jubilee. These were presented by Adrienne Fitzgerald, local Councillor for leisure and heritage. It was a wonderful morning and the perfect way to end our work experience with Lyn and the volunteers.
We would like to thank them all for supporting our young people to achieve and make a difference. 🎖️👏🏻
