Barrage Wargames Show

One of the two remaining Lancaster Bombers is due to fly over Stoke on Trent later today.

The iconic aircraft’s fly-past will take place between 3.30pm and 3.45pm.

We may only be a few weeks into the new year but we hope you’ve all had a good start to 2022… we certainly have, both gaming wise and personally, which is why we’ve been a bit quiet of late and why this is going to be a bitter-sweet post; a lot has changed in 2 years.

Personal wise, We’re due to move house, started a new job which means new shift patterns and a few photographic opportunities planned, and general health.

Gaming wise, we’ve spied an opportunity to do more and expand but currently waiting on replies.

So, we’re asking for volunteers to help us with the admin side of things - helping to update the website, getting back to traders, etc. The physical setting up will be fine on the day as we have other volunteers already for that.

Hello all,

Apologies for the radio silence but after some serious consideration, we’ve decided to cancel Barrage 2021.

Despite the good news with the roadmap out of lockdown going in the right direction, we’ve spoken to a number of both traders and attendees and we have a 50/50 split.

Some are more than happy to attend whereas the other half either raised the concern it would be too soon (13 days after the June milestone) or they would only attend if there were restrictions in place - social distancing, etc. We would also be losing some key facilities (water fountains, toilets, etc.) due to ‘COVID Secure’ guidelines within the venue.

We’ve also seen other events either cancel or move to later in the year with the expectation of a significant drop in footfall; these events are also national weekend events so much bigger than Barrage. By cancelling 2021 and not postponing, it does mean that instead of ‘chasing’ the event, we can get ahead of it and watch for it to ‘catch up’ with us!

However, we are looking into a plan B where traders can still do business and would-be attendees can still get their Barrage deals. Also, we’ll still be taking bookings/gauging interest for Barrage 2022 so if this is of interest, you can book your stall space early.

Sorry, again, for the delayed reply and for the inconvenience but we hope to see you in the future with your continued support, and we’ll be in touch soon with our “Plan B”.

Hey everyone, sorry for the longer than expected radio silence.

We are aware of the lockdown easing, 4-step guideline and we’ll put out an update after the conference at 7pm, however we have been, and are still planning, for Barrage 2021.

The preliminary announcement looks like Barrage 2021 is going to be a very real possibility.

July 4th is the date!
