Talking to a pupil about their wellbeing can feel daunting, particularly when you are unsure what to say or worried about hearing something concerning.

Our latest guide reminds educators that they do not need to be specialists to provide meaningful support.

The guide explores:
• Building warm, trusting relationships
• Choosing a safe and appropriate place to talk
• Using side-by-side conversations to reduce pressure
• Staying calm when a pupil shares a concern

☕🧁 Macmillan Coffee Morning Fundraiser 🧁☕

Students are invited to take part in our Macmillan Coffee Morning during break time from 11:20am to 11:35am on Friday 25 September.

Come along and enjoy a delicious selection of cakes while supporting a fantastic cause. Cakes will be available for a donation of 50p to £1 each.

Join Our Team – Catering Assistant

We're looking for a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to join our team at The Rural Enterprise Academy on a permanent, term-time-only basis.

Working as part of our Catering team, you'll assist with food preparation, serving meals, operating tills, and helping to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

💷 £2,959 per annum
📍 Support Staff Grade 2
⏰ 5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 12.30pm-1.30pm)
📅 Term Time Only (38 weeks)
📄 Permanent Contract

📚 Welcome Back — Your Day 1 Guide

The first day of school is almost here — which means bags will be packed (with varying levels of accuracy), alarms will be set (and ignored), and at least one student will suddenly remember they were supposed to “be more organised this year.”
To help everyone glide into Day 1 with minimal chaos, here’s your rundown.

👔 Uniform Update
Students should arrive wearing either a blazer or jumper on Day 1. All other uniform rules stay exactly the same

📱 Mobile Phones
Any new phone rules will be explained on the first day back.
Until then, please ignore any student confidently announcing:
“Actually, phones are allowed everywhere now.” They are… ambitious.

🗂️ Timetables
Timetables will be handed out on Day 1 — saving everyone from the annual mystery of:
“I printed it.”
“No you didn’t.”
“Yes I did.”
“It’s under the cereal box.”

🏃‍♂️ PE Lessons (Week 1)
A small but important update:

PE kit is required on Day 1 for Year 11, who should bring theirs just in.

Other year groups may have PE later in the week, so kits should still be ready — but Day 1 is PE‑free for most.

⏰ Start & Finish Times
Start: 9:00am
Finish: 3:30pm
Simple. Familiar. No surprises.

🌟 Ready to Begin
We’re excited to welcome everyone — returning students, brand‑new faces, and those who grew three inches over summer — to a fresh school year. New learning, new routines, and probably a few new haircuts. It’s going to be a good one.

GCSE results can be collected between 9:00am and 11:00am on Thursday 20 August 2026.

To everyone waiting for those envelopes — take a breath. You’ve worked hard, you’ve grown, and you’ve shown resilience that matters far beyond any grade. Whatever’s inside that envelope, it’s just one part of your story… not the whole thing.

🌿 Mental Health Support Team 🌿

We’re proud to work with the South Staffordshire Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to support the wellbeing of our students, parents and staff. The team offers friendly, confidential help with everyday mental health challenges — including worry, low mood, exam stress, anxiety, coping strategies, sleep and managing difficult emotions.

📅 Holiday Support
MHST is open 20 July – 2 September, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
If you’re experiencing low‑level mental health difficulties, you can call 01283 504487 and request a callback from a practitioner.
(Not for emergencies)

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Workshops
The attached includes QR codes for pre‑recorded sessions on anxiety and low mood, designed to help parents support their children with confidence.
