🥛🌍 World Milk Day – 1st June 🌍🥛

Today we are celebrating World Milk Day and learning all about why milk is important for growing children! 💪🦴

Milk contains lots of important nutrients including calcium, protein and vitamins that help support healthy bones, teeth, and growing bodies. It also gives children energy to play, explore and learn throughout the day! ✨

Did you know that at nursery and preschool, all children receive a FREE third of a pint of milk every day to help support healthy growth and development. 🥛💛

🐮 Fun Milk Facts:
🥛 Milk helps keep our bones and teeth strong
🐄 Cows can produce around 6–7 gallons of milk each day
🧀 Milk can be turned into lots of tasty foods like cheese, yoghurt, and butter
💪 Calcium is especially important for growing children

🏡 Why not celebrate at home by:
🍓 Making a healthy milkshake together
🧀 Trying different dairy foods
📚 Reading farm-themed stories

Today we are celebrating our tiny but mighty friends… BEES! 💛🖤

World Bee Day helps raise awareness of just how important bees and other pollinators are for our planet. Bees help flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow — which means they play a huge part in the food we eat every day! 🌍🍓🌻

🐝 Bee Facts for Little Learners:
🍯 Bees communicate by dancing!
🌸 A single bee can visit up to 5,000 flowers in one day
👑 The queen bee is the only bee in the hive that lays eggs
💛 Bees are amazing pollinators and help keep our planet healthy

🏡 Ways to help bees at home with your children:
🌼 Plant bee-friendly flowers
💧 Leave out a shallow dish of water for thirsty bees
🌿 Let some grass or flowers grow wild in the garden
🎨 Make bee crafts or read bee-themed stories together
