What a lovely morning nursery have had exploring their new nursery with their grown ups. They have painted in cardboard city, made their house, dressed up, read stories and had lots of fun. Thank you to all the adults that spent time with their children in nursery today.

Last week in English, Year 4 used Colourful Semantics to help develop their sentence-writing skills while creating character descriptions of Judy Hopps from Zootopia. 🐰🚓

The children worked hard to build clear and detailed sentences before adding ambitious vocabulary and descriptive language to bring Judy's personality and appearance to life. They explored how to describe her as a determined, brave and caring character, using their knowledge of sentence structure to create engaging writing.

This week, Year 5 have been investigating air resistance in Science. We explored whether the surface area of a parachute affects the amount of air resistance it experiences. The children tested parachutes with small, medium and large surface areas, observing and comparing how long each took to reach the ground. From our investigation, we discovered that the larger the surface area, the greater the air resistance, meaning the parachute took longer to reach the ground. Great work year 5!

Year 4 were certainly rocking and dancing last week as part of our spectacular 100th Birthday Celebrations! 🎉✨

We are delighted to announce that Dora, Mrs Hadley and Mrs Jones received a conditional pass for the final, practical PAWs therapy dog assessment! So much hard work has gone into this; being able to leave food in corridors, sit and wait, loose lead walking, ensuring Dora is comfortable and at ease at school have all been part of the assessment. She’s a little superstar and (once the final few bits have been submitted), we’ll be ensuring that Dora gets to spend more time with children. Exciting times to come 🐶 🐾 🥰.
